INSPIRATION:
The inspiration for this project stemmed from personal experiences as an immigrant facing the challenges of managing luggage during emigration. The need for a solution to prevent overweight baggage and alleviate the stress of potential loss led to the development of this smart suitcase. Motivated by the desire to streamline the travel process and provide peace of mind, the project integrates cutting-edge technology with practical functionality to address these common problems.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Voyz, a smart suitcase, prioritizes user needs. Integrating advanced tech and craftsmanship, it offers intelligent features: real-time tracking, remote locking, weight sensing to prevent fees, and item locating. Fingerprint authentication and USB charger add security and convenience. Its zipperless, poly-carbonate shell, and corners to ensures durability against travel wear.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Smart suitcase has features a built-in digital scale for accurate weight measurement, 360-degree wheels, and a USB Power Bank for mobile charging. Ergonomic handles ensure easy lifting. It has an app enables tracking the suitcase during the journey, locking/unlocking the luggage thorough the mobile phone. In addition to it has scan tools to scanning items inside the suitcase and shows them on app, and also fingerprint security on the suitcase lock.

The project was conceptualized in 2024 in London.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The smart suitcase integrates strain gauge sensors or load cells for weight measurement. Wheels made from rubber or polyurethane ensure durability. A lithium-ion battery powers the USB Power Bank with a built-in charging circuit. Ergonomic handles use soft-touch plastics for comfort. The GPS-enabled tracking app communicates with the suitcase, controlling electronic locks for security. Fingerprint sensors provide biometric security. Makrolon polycarbonate balances strength, weight, and aesthetics, while injection molding enables complex shapes and high-volume production.
