DESIGN NAME: Morf
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Brand Identity
INSPIRATION: Morf was created to be an aid to distress. The fashion industry has not only been killing the environment but has also had severe psychologically harmful consequences on humanity. Morf wants fashion to be empowering, with emphasis on body acceptance and neutrality because current fashion practices do not benefit mental health and the age of social media intensifies insecurities and encourages more consumerism.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Morf is the next generation of wearable intelligence. With new shape shifting textiles, Morf clothing molds to your body, ensuring a perfect fit for every shape. Fully customizable, it adjusts size, shape, and style on demand. Combining comfort, style, and tech, Morf empowers wearers with confidence. It is more than fashion, it is a movement promoting body positivity and wellness.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: nteraction with the brand guidelines involves using the book to create and maintain consistent brand experiences. It also involves external audiences, such as customers and clients, who engage with the brand through its visual and verbal identity across different channels. RESEARCH ABSTRACT: I conducted design research for Morf clothing, exploring user needs and preferences and how shape-shifting textiles can boost comfort and confidence for diverse body types. I delved into avant-garde fashion and surrealism for brand aesthetics, studied color psychology, and drew on Northwestern University's research on "enclothed cognition." Clothing's symbolic meaning impacts mental state, benefiting those who struggle with self-expression or are introverted.
CHALLENGE: The creative challenge and obstacles included finalizing the overall design aesthetics and bringing the brand to life.
