| DESIGN NAME: Bodhi PRIMARY FUNCTION: Jewelry INSPIRATION: The design inspiration comes from a jade Maitreya Buddha that was gifted by an elder. The designer aims to convey the blessings and lofty aspirations from elder to the next generation through jewelry-inspired creations. The inspiration comes from the heart-shaped bodhi leaf, which symbolizes compassion and joy, as well as the wisdom and inclusive heart of Maitreya Buddha. The work displays the beauty and wisdom of the Maitreya Buddha, conveying the deep affection and kindness of the elder. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This jewelry design takes inspiration from the heart-shaped bodhi leaf. The designer ingeniously uses two layers of elliptical hemispheres, with the upper layer centered around a jade Buddha stone, using translucent enamel craftsmanship to give the bodhi leaf a clearer and more mysterious beauty. The lower layer, centered around a mother-of-pearl of the same shape, allows light to reflect through diamonds, creating colorful reflections that cast beautiful light and shadow on the enamel. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Through research and collaboration, the team successfully transformed the jade Maitreya Buddha into a piece of fashionable jewelry that embodies both visual appeal and heartfelt blessings. The combination of the creativity of designer and the exquisite skills of the craftman showcases the clear and mysterious beauty of the bodhi leaf, as well as the play of light and shadow created by diamonds and enamel. This piece meets pursuit of consumers for jewelry products, conveys the deep affection of elders, and brings a unique sense of beauty and confidence. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Techniques: Hand-carved wax, translucent enamel craftsmanship, exquisite honeycomb mesh inlay techniques, etc. Materials: High-quality white gold, diamonds, transparent sapphires, emeralds, rubies, natural mother-of-pearl, etc. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Total weight of the piece: 41.6 grams Main jade stone: 3.15 carats The entire piece uses a total of 377 diamonds and gemstones, totaling approximately 16 carats. CHALLENGE: In the construction of the piece, the designer found the biggest challenge to be breaking through the traditional image of the jade Maitreya Buddha as jewelry, hoping to bring a fresh and eye-catching design. Another difficulty was the firing and color adjustment of the translucent enamel in this piece during the production process, which required a total of 6 trials before finally achieving the desired color.
