| DESIGN NAME: Elemental PRIMARY FUNCTION: Resort Wear Collection INSPIRATION: The inspiration for the design comes from the five elements of Indian Mythology, Earth, Fire, Water, Wind & Ether. The dresses are designed in Green, Red, and Blue. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Shilpa Sharma is a double recipient of the prestigious A Design Awards Italy, International Design Awards, and Muse Design Awards for her designs. Her Elemental collection is inspired by five elements of Indian Mythology: Earth, Fire, Water, Wind & Ether. Each element has its own significance and characteristics, such as color. These characteristics are displayed in the collection designs. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: All the dresses in this collection are a unique amalgam of high-fashion wear that can be donned casually and formally. These are especially suited to women who work, travel, and attend leisure gatherings. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The collection is designed in India. The photoshoot was done at one of the oldest cities in the world, Varanasi in India, by the ace fashion filmmaker from India, Ajitesh Sharma, in 2021. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The idea was to design a collection that can act as comfy wear while giving a high fashion statement. To do that, light fabric with ethnic print was chosen so that the design can be both practical & classy. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Color-wise, the Earth is represented by Green and Brown, the Fire by Red, the Water by Blue, the Wind by White, and the Ether by Gold. TAGS: Indian, ethnic, resort, fashion, award RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The fashion collection is also conveyed through an award-winning fashion film about the life journey of a girl, exploring life with elements in play. We see her transforming from a little girl to a modern woman to an old lady. At each stage, she is connected to the elements. CHALLENGE: Elemental is the Indian Ethnic Fusion Collection by Indian Fashion Designer Shilpa Sharma for the brand Squacle. One of the challenging aspects of this design was to capture the essence of an element in each individual dress of the collection.
