PRIMARY FUNCTION: Mobile Application
INSPIRATION: This project was born from analysis of the limitations prevalent in many single-purpose AI photo editors. While these tools demonstrate the power of AI for specific image transformations, they often constrain users to a linear workflow, preventing the iterative and creative exploration of multiple AI techniques.This project addresses the desire for both simplified AI-driven image editing and the boundless creative control required for iterative workflows.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Goru AI Photo Editor effortlessly combines the power of AI with intuitive user control. Its customizable pipeline system empowers users to seamlessly build their own image editing workflows with a suite of AI-driven tools. Whether for artistic expression, professional projects, or social media, Goru AI makes complex image editing procedures accessible.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The homepage balances accessibility with functionality, providing a well-organized entry point to the application's capabilities. Processes are streamlined, accepting multiple input types. Users benefit from rapid results and a flexible workflow, allowing for optional enhancement, immediate saving, or continued editing for more complex creative tasks.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The initial version of the project started in August 2023, Ankara and finished in February, 2024. Since, the development and improvement process is mostly relied on both users' activity and technical developments, the product undergoes continuous development and improvement.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Visual design was completed using Figma and Adobe Illustrator. The mobile application was developed with Swift in accordance with established requirements. The AI component is a hybrid solution, with cloud-based modules for complex tasks and offline capabilities for optimal mobile performance.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This project leverages market analysis, including industry reports from leading sources (e.g., Gartner, Forrester) to identify key opportunities and challenges within the Photo/Video and sub AI categories. Data-driven insights form the foundation for the project's design, ensuring a solution aligned with evolving user needs and technological trends. Unlike existing solutions, this project merges the power of AI with the flexibility of customizable pipelines, redefining the mobile image editing experience. Drawing upon insights from recent sector reports, this approach addresses a critical market gap, empowering users to achieve creative control within a streamlined, accessible interface.
CHALLENGE: A significant design challenge inherent to the Goru AI Photo Editor project involved reconciling the capabilities of generative AI with the need for granular user control. Integrating complex AI models while ensuring a streamlined and intuitive mobile experience necessitated innovative interface solutions. Moreover, the rapidly evolving nature of generative AI technologies demanded continuous research to assess their impact on the creative workflow, guiding the project's evolution to stay aligned with emerging user needs and expectations.
