| DESIGN NAME: Pets Care PRIMARY FUNCTION: Pet Carrier INSPIRATION: Now that pets have become an integral part of many families, many owners will want to travel with their pets while keeping them comfortable. To this end, we designed this product to take care of the emotions and needs of pets. We analyze the emotions of pets with the help of microphone matrix, camera matrix and AI, hoping to strengthen the emotional connection between humans and pets through this product. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: When pets are transported by plane or train for a long time, they often have emergency responses or physical discomfort because of the bumpy and closed environment. The owners will also be anxious and upset because of worry. This product can observe the condition of pets in an all-round way through the microphone matrix and camera matrix. The ventilation system ensures the quality of air. The owners can also calm the pets' emotions through voice. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: When you need to take your pet on a long or short trip, place your pet in this product. Turn on the power, use the mobile app to pair and connect, the microphone matrix and camera matrix will detect the pet in real time, upload the cloud to calculate the pet's current emotional state, and regularly rotate the exhaust fan to ensure good air. Users can talk to their pets through a mobile app to calm them down. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Zhejiang University &MAIZI DESIGN GROUP in December 2023, completed in Zhejiang in February 2024. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The main body of the carrier is made of PP resin material, which takes into account color, light weight and strength. The door uses aluminum as support to ensure transparency and improve the overall texture of the product. The side and top transparent parts are made of colored acrylic panels to unify the overall tone and further strengthen the strength of the carrier. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 660mm x Depth 480mm x Height 530mm TAGS: Pets, pet carrier, mood analysis, companionship, comfort, travel, microphone matrix, Camera matrix, Cloud computing RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Firstly, we have gained insights into the needs of pet owners through extensive user research. In order to enable the detection of both mental and physical health conditions in pets, we have conducted numerous experimental studies. By synthesizing findings from various pet behavior research literature, we integrated microphone and camera matrices to achieve real-time emotional assessment of pets. Ultimately, based on the conventional shape of a pet carrier, we have designed an intelligent pet carrier of detecting the emotional state of pets. CHALLENGE: Traditional pet carrier in the transport process because the air is difficult to circulate resulting in thin air, so pets often have discomfort. We have added an exhaust fan to the traditional pet box, which greatly improves the air quality inside the box. It is very difficult to fit a camera matrix, a microphone matrix, and a battery sufficient for battery life in a small case. In addition, the lightweight of this product is not a small challenge.
