DESIGN NAME: The Thug
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Graphic Novel
INSPIRATION: Thugs were an ancient Indian Cult engaged in loot and murders. Their modus operandi was to join a caravan as bona fide travelers and gain their trust. Once the fellow travelers had been lured into a false sense of security, Thugs would wait for a suitable place and time before robbing, annihilating, and burying them.
This graphic novel is a unique take on many aspects of Thuggee. This could be the first such work to deal closely with this cult's intricate and rare aspects, not known to many.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Thrillers have attracted me in all formats, films, comics, books, and even video games. However, ironically, in my filmmaking career, I have made films in most genres but thrillers. So, when I thought of writing my first book, there were two essential considerations, it had to be visual, and it had to be a thriller, thus, this graphic novel.
CHALLENGE: Through The Thug, I have tried to generate the excitement of a whodunnit mystery and provide an experience that changes with each new perspective of the involved characters. The thugs were a real cult, and much has been said and written about them through different content formats over the years, but transposing that atmosphere to modern times is what I have tried to achieve through my first attempt at produced fiction writing.
