| DESIGN NAME: Dear Ebe Aqua PRIMARY FUNCTION: Knitwear INSPIRATION: Drawing inspiration from 1990s Japanese anime, I reevaluate the potential structure and relationship between the body and clothing, sparked by detachable equipment. Additionally, Dora Maar's surrealist photography, with its profound sense of beauty and a touch of grotesque aesthetics, profoundly influences my creative perspective. In terms of color, the bold paintings of Georgia O'Keeffe have long empowered my artistic expression. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The acronym 'Ebe' denotes Extraterrestrial Biological Entity, and in my vision, it takes the form of 'Ebe-Aqua.' OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The static and worn effects of this series differ significantly. Once worn, the infinite symbols undergo a transformation from 2D to 3D, creating a dynamic visual experience. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in April 2023 in Shanghai and finished in August 2023 in Shanghai, and full collection was exhibited in innoment in Tokyo in October 2023. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: In this series, I have developed a variety of different stitching techniques and utilized the basic ribbed patterns in conjunction with various structures, creating infinite symbols across different parts of the human body. Many designs are hand-sewn, with each piece requiring meticulous craftsmanship, along with special finishing techniques. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The dune top， length 79cm width 60cm The dune skirt， length 94cm width 40cm The aqua power sleevelet，length 50cm width 12cm The ebe aqua top， length 40cm width 35cm The ebe aqua skirt， length 90 cm width 35cm The X skirt ， length 40cm width 40cm The ebe aqua legging， length 40cm width 10cm TAGS: retro-futurist, soft armor,self-awareness RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The mechanical hands from the 'Akira' animation deeply influence my creative work，and the fashion culture of the 1960s, I aim to create designs that evoke a retro-futuristic aesthetic. Drawing from Georgia O'Keeffe's bold color combinations, I seek to craft my own 'infinite aqualand,' where infinite symbols imbue women with boundless power. CHALLENGE: The most complex aspect of this series lies in devising algorithms to determine the most suitable infinite structures that integrate with different dimensions of the human body, as well as overcoming the challenges posed by combining various yarns. Consequently, the initial development phase required significant time investment, including determining the temperature required for finishing. Each crafting process is highly precise, but I have managed to overcome these challenges and present a satisfactory final product.
