| DESIGN NAME: Infinity PRIMARY FUNCTION: Console INSPIRATION: The inspiration for the product, comes from the long and intense collaboration with the company Laurameroni design collection. A unique, diverse and distinguishable company thanks to its ability to work with materials. These are the characteristics and therefore the inspirations that led to the design of the Infinity product in its complexity, materiality and uniqueness. Powerfully expressive, this console draws inspiration from the fluid, organic shapes of waves, true sculptures produced by nature. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Part of the Infinity collection, this console revisits the unique detail of the geometric alveolar base, enhancing it thanks to a series of soft curves. To achieve this ambitious goal, raw materials such as wood are fundamental and well exploited, taking advantage of the mind-blowing variety of finishes, concepts and techniques they naturally provide. The special base in carved wood is not only splendid to the eye and captivating to the touch, but above all a symbol of the skill of craftsmen. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Infinity console is a multi-purpose object for placing objects, works of art and lighting accessories. With its design it can also be used as a decorative element within the space. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in september 2021 and finished in April 2022 and it was exibitet in Salone del mobile. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Furniture Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: A masterful technique of high-end craftsmanship has made it possible to create extremely complex curves. The sophisticated workmanship that distinguishes the infinity console refers to the typical artisan heritage of Brianza. The curved shapes are combined with a taste for refined details, such as the unusual workmanship on the outside of the console, made through the use of a particular material. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 1800 mm X 800 mm X 450 mm TAGS: unique, different, curves, eclectic, super, handicraft, luxury, tradition RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We started from an introspective research on the relationship with nature with the aim of finding a material that could embody the sinuosity of natural forms. Through the use of preparatory sketches and the consolidated relationship established with the company and the artisans, we succeeded in our intent. Over time, we have perfected the technique and pushed ourselves further and further towards the physical limit of the material in order to obtain a model that looks like a real natural sculpture. The final element is a decorative piece of furniture with a strong personality, which can fit with style and elegance into any living context. CHALLENGE: The result of technological research into materials, it combines the elegance of the curved line with the functionality of use. The base developed through a sophisticated technique of high cabinet-making. In which it has been possible to create curvatures of considerable complexity. The problem faced in the construction of the console was precisely the study of the curves as a function of the physical characteristics of curvature of the decorative material to be applied on the external surface.
