| DESIGN NAME: Joseph PRIMARY FUNCTION: Modular Sofa INSPIRATION: The design of our product is the result of the merging traditions, craftsmanship and carefully chosen materials. We combined our heritage and love for historical beauties with our admiration for nature. Elegantly processed high quality materials came together to shape a high-end design that differs from counterparts with specific form and lines. Flavor of it appeals only to those with refined taste and appreciation of quality workmanship. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Joseph Sofa Set is designed to be a centerpiece where the combination of qualified materials meets high-end design, becoming a sculptural piece that attracts instant attention. While offering a unique appearance with asymmetrical form, sofa itself also creates a striking combination with daybed module. Joseph sofa encourages you to spend long hours on its comfortable seating and soft boucle & chenile fabric, also offering functional solution with wooden coffee table detail. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Thanks to its unique sculptural design and modular structure, Joseph Sofa can be easily used for various purposes in homes, corporate, and artistic spaces. The detechable coffee table serves is functional accessory for those who enjoy unwinding on the sofa. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in September 2023 in Istanbul and finished in December 2023 in Istanbul and was exhibited in Istanbul Furniture Fair in January 2024 FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Furniture Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Made with a durable wooden frame,35 DNS perla foam, and high-quality boucle and chenille fabrics, the Joseph Modular Sofa is built to last. The legs are crafted from sturdy wood, while the back cushions feature CNC cut foam and internal metal supports to prevent any unwanted sliding. The product is divided into two sections for convenient transportation and to avoid any potential issues with weight. The coffee table module can be easily attached and removed. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Joseph Modular Sofa - Length 2960mm x Depth 1070mm x Height 620mm Joseph Daybad - Length 2220mm x Depth 1020mm x Height 620mm TAGS: Sofa, Art Furniture, Sophisticated, Artisanal, Sculptural RESEARCH ABSTRACT: While designing Joseph sofa, we carried out our sketches in search of an impressive sculptural form between wood structure and upholstery. When it comes to material and fabric choices we were inspired by world trends and combined them with our cultural background. We preferred a daybed module instead of armchair as a complementary because we thought it was compatible with our sofas unique spirit. CHALLENGE: There were not many factors that challenged us during the design process of the product. During the production process, we chose to make the triple seat in two pieces, as there would be weight and carrying problems due to the solid wood leg.
