DESIGN NAME: Furha
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Motor Yacht
INSPIRATION: The concept is inspired by the natural and sinuous shapes of the Antelope Canyon in Arizona, from which the lines of the hull, the layout of the internal and external spaces and the color palette were taken. During the design phase, careful study was used to give the vessel a balance between essential and clean shapes, maintaining a harmony between rigor and sinuosity.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The FURHA project is a day cruiser designed for convivial day cruises, with a design that emphasizes the external spaces inspired by the sinuous shapes of the Antelope Canyon. The asymmetric layout and the front wheelhouse maximize the experience of use. The balance between essential shapes and sinuosity was achieved through careful study during the design, with particular attention to the optimization of space and the integration of an innovative piston system for raising and lowering the cabin.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This yacht boasts greater autonomy with two Yanmar 8LV engines managed by FSS autopilot software, ideal for long journeys. These engines offer powerful performance with lighter weight, provide searing acceleration, smooth power and diesel efficiency. FSS software optimizes cruising speed while minimizing fuel consumption.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: the project starts in October 2022 and ends in January 2024

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The main goal was to maximize space usage, enhancing connectivity between internal and external areas via a spacious companionway a novel feature for such ships. An innovative piston system, concealed in dedicated compartments, raises the cabin by 80 cm using three hydraulic pistons, minimizing the divide between indoor and outdoor spaces while maintaining comfort. Mechanized telescopic ladders facilitate cabin usage across configurations.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The Grand Canyon inspired our logo: we crafted the letter "F" from its contours, symbolizing "Furha," a Lombard term similar to "Forra," representing a deep gorge. Our research focused on market trends, showing growth in global nautical leasing, and competitor analysis, shaping our boat's design with elements from Jeanneau DB 43, Princess R 35, and Nerea Y 40. These insights shaped our yacht for dynamic, innovative owners seeking versatile vessel usage.
CHALLENGE: The main challenge is to optimize the spaces and technologies inside a ten meter boat without compromising aesthetics and usability. The insertion of the pistons to elevate the cabin represented an obstacle in maintaining the possibility of accommodating storage, but with a detailed study of the shape no space was sacrificed.
