DESIGN NAME: Skybow
PRIMARY FUNCTION: New Cultural Landmark
INSPIRATION: Wuyou resembles a bow, with Chuanchang River forming the bow handle, stretching from the north to the south of Ji Town. The Pearl Creek, abundant in pearls, represents the bowstring, and the East-West Street acts as the arrow resting on the string. This unique topographical feature exclusive to Wuyou creates the concept of the 'Skybow,' with the main structure taking the form of a bow, symbolizing Wuyou's poised and courageous stance, akin to a drawn bow ready to release.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: By collecting information on Wuyou Town, analyzing the topography and exploring the cultural heritage of the site, we aim to create a new landmark. The conceptual design for the architectural landmark sculpture is based on the unique topography of Wuyou, shaped like a 'bow.' The bow-shaped structure also represents Wuyou's constant readiness, like a drawn bow, poised and ready to move forward with courage.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The relief design on the main structure's surface forms a symbolic cultural totem, inheriting and promoting the culture of Wuyou. The innermost ring of the pedestrian walkway is engraved with the historical timeline of Wuyou's development, creating a culturally immersive atmosphere and adding an interactive element to the sculpture. The interplay of light and shadow, water curtain, and rainbow flowing lights, against the backdrop of Wuyou's historical timeline, weaves a fascinating and insightful narrative. Viewers can actively engage and step into this world, as if walking through the inspiring journey of Wuyou's development.
