| DESIGN NAME: Jelly Go PRIMARY FUNCTION: Children's Chair INSPIRATION: Inspired by the jellyfish form, Jelly Go is ready to bring joy to children's rooms. Its abstract and organic shape is ready to trigger children's imagination and help them form a new bond with the product through creating new stories. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Jelly Go is a playful children chair that has wonderfully sculptural expression and is designed to bring joy and charm into children's rooms. It is inspired by the form of a jellyfish. With its playful extra leg, it reaches out to children to aspire them to create new stories in their living environments. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Interaction with the user has two main aspects. Jelly Go is designed to accompany children during their play times when they create and learn as ergonomically and comfortably as possible. Also, the chair is designed co-create new stories in children and to become a happy figure their living spaces and plays organically. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The production took place in August 2021 and finished in January 2022 in Istanbul. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Crafted with care by artisans in Istanbul, Jelly Go is a unique children's chair made from solid oak. Its delicate and seamless handcrafted design not only exudes elegance but also reflects the dedication of skilled craftsmen. Constructed from massive oak, this environmentally conscious product is meant to be passed down through generations. Its timeless appeal ensures it continues to bring joy and charm to new children, creating enduring memories in their living spaces. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 360 mm x Depth 360 mm x H 32mm Material Massive Oak, Fabric and Filling EN713 Teak oil is applied on massive oak body. TAGS: Children' s furniture, imagination, playroom, children's chair RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Researches states that the best designs that will adapt to children's rooms well are the basic ones are relatively open-ended, so children can use them in multiple ways and create their own stories and own characters through them. In creation process of Jelly Go the most basic and abstract forms were used so it can leave more freedom to the children`s imagination. Jelly Go can be an elephant standing, tall and proud or an octopus hiding for a prey or a happily floating jelly fish in another play. CHALLENGE: The curvy leg, a standout element in Jelly Go's form, demanded a delicate touch that only a seasoned team of artisans could provide. This intricate handcraft process goes beyond the realm of mere construction; it transforms each chair into a work of art, elevating Jelly Go to more than just a functional piece of furniture.
