| DESIGN NAME: Seta PRIMARY FUNCTION: Kitchen Design INSPIRATION: By examining repetitive patterns, wavy forms, and textures, the fluent structure of nature was brought into the kitchen with the theme of rhythm. Extensive prototyping studies were conducted to understand the sensations created by different textures in end users. Three-dimensional textured design, inspired by nature, reflects the flow of waves. Thus, the kitchen design, which strengthens the energetic connection with nature in the intensive modern life, transforms the space into a living area. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Seta collection is a design that emerges from the pursuit of excellence in material processing technology. Seta accompanies the modern style with its three-dimensional textured design and distinctive details. In space design, balance is a key consideration, as wavy and flat doors are paired with solemn shades of blue and grey. Minimalist brass handles and reeded glass doors come together meticulously, providing captivating light effects. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: For an environmentally friendly, aesthetic and functional kitchen, very low VOC emission materials that prioritise the environment and human health are preferred on the surfaces that are intensively used by the user. The special surface lacquer is scratch-resistant and fingerprint-proof. Light scratches that occur during use can be eliminated by applying heat to the surface. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in November 2021 in Kocaeli Turkiye and finished in July 2022 at Lineadecor Factory's Product Development Office. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Three-dimensional texture is provided by CNC production technology. Modular kitchen furniture offers thousands of cabinet door configurations in various sizes. Rigorous work was executed to ensure the integration of the three-dimensional textured doors with the modular system. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: A kitchen was designed in a space measuring 6300 mm x 5500 mm, utilizing tall cabinets, an island unit, glass door units, base cabinets, and wall cabinets. The three-dimensional door design was produced using 18 mm MDF, with the panel sized during the production of lacquered doors. Primer paint and polyurethane paint are applied to all surfaces. An S-matt coating is then applied on the polyurethane paint to achieve an S-matt lacquer surface. TAGS: Kitchen Design, Reeded, Ribbed, Matte, Deep Blue, Chic, Modern, Aesthetic, Contemporary RESEARCH ABSTRACT: For this project, we conducted exploratory research to understand user needs in kitchen design. We used a mix of qualitative methods like interviews and observations. CHALLENGE: Perfection in material processing technology is necessary to provide an impeccable wavy surface. Technical development and a new production process design were carried out to meet the required conditions.
