| DESIGN NAME: Briiv Pro PRIMARY FUNCTION: Air Purifier INSPIRATION: Air purifiers are usually bulky, ugly and loud and rely almost entirely on unsustainable production practices and materials. There is no reason why air purification cannot be sustainable in both form and function. That is why we dedicated ourselves to making Briiv Pro the most sustainable form of air purification available. Instead of waiting for the world to change, we decided to change it for the better. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Briiv Pro uses renewable and natural materials to filter the air in your home or office environment, creating clean, safe air so you can breathe, as nature intended. Instead of fossil-fuel derived plastics, Briiv Pro uses bioplastics, moss, coconut and recyclable glass to deliver clean air with lower power consumption and filter replacement costs than the leading competitive brand. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Briiv Pro can be operated in three distinct ways: firstly via the LED interface on the front of the unit, allowing the user to increase and decrease the fan speed. The second method is the touchless approach which uses the same LED interface though operates via proximity sensor, keeping Briiv Pro from being touched. The final method is via the Briiv app where Briiv Pro units can be turned on, off, increase and decrease in speed of operation as well as scheduled and meshed together to form an air cleaning network of multiple Briiv units. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project began in mid-2022 when the decision was made to bring a more up to date, more powerful version of our original product to market. Currently Briiv Pro is fielding orders from all over the world. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Briiv Pro is a major leap forward for sustainably designed appliances by incorporating bioplastics, air quality sensors and AI-driven software to operate as efficiently and effectively as possible. By implementing cutting-edge technology, Briiv Pro delivers heightened convenience and improved air quality to those nearby, monitoring the air quality in your environment and automating itself to clean the air as needed, leaving you free to enjoy cleaner air and a healthier life. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Weight. 1.3kg Height: 30cm Width: 16cm diameter Power: 5v TAGS: Air purifier, sustainable, natural materials, biodegradeable, recyclable, circular product, circular economy RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Our previous design had broken new ground in the world of consumer electronics and suddenly we recevied new requests and demands from our clients. It became clear that the world wanted more power and more features. As such we applied our original research to a more powerful unit that now delivers more clean air than before. The onboard air qulaity sensor provides the unit with autonomy to monitor the air around it and run itself to clean the air to a satisfactory level. The largest leap forward for the functions is the mesh-network aspect: multiple units working together to clean the air of a larger environment, multiple rooms in a house for example, all driven via the Briiv app. Increased clean air delivery, improved unit autonomy and integrated multi-unit mesh-networking have brought Briiv Pro to the forefront of sustainable electronics by delivering more than ever before. CHALLENGE: The most difficult part of the design process was to accomodate a larger, more powerful fan that wouldn't compromise the footprint of the product. We wished to keep Briiv Pro as a small appliance and not subject to higher voltage needs (which would in turn make it more expensive to run). Upon finding a fan that suited our needs and didn't require more power to run, we augmented the base to output clean air more efficiently then before, making Briiv Pro even more powerful than initial testng would show.
