| DESIGN NAME: Qingfeng Sun Protective Suit PRIMARY FUNCTION: Kids' Clothing INSPIRATION: The existing sun-protective clothing on the market is only able to block 320-380nm UV. However, children have a more tender skin that requires a full band UV protection. We innovatively apply rare earth technology in children's sun-protective clothing through reorganizing its microstructure to enable an antibacterial function, making the fabric highly protective and antibacterial. The fabric is skin-friendly and soft, providing a comfortable and cool feeling in sweltering summer. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This sun protective suit innovatively applies rare earth technology, breaking the three main technology bottlenecks of sun protective clothing: coating, textile auxiliary, and titanium dioxide raw yarn and enabling full-band UV protection with a higher UV-blocking efficiency. The application of rare earth-based yarn makes this sun protective suit 8% lighter than products with the same UPF and number of stitches. Featuring good breathability and coolness, this sun protective suit keeps children comfortable and refreshing in hot summer. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: According to researches on mechanics of children's movement, the version for girls adopts a cape design and the boys' adopts an innovative 4:6 contour. The breathable mesh at underarm area maintains children's armpit ventilating and dry. The widened and curved brim and the heightened mask greatly enlarge sun-protective area. The reflective zip protects children when walking in dark. The interesting pattern that changes with light brings an intuitive detection of UV intensity. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in April 2023 in Shanghai. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: We use rare earth as the medium and reorganize its microstructure to enable the fabric to repeatedly absorb and convert 100-400 nm ultraviolet, so as to achieve sun protection within the entire UV band. Furthermore, the conversion and absorption process is safe, long-lasting, and efficient. It also has an antibacterial function with an antibacterial rate up to 99%, offering comprehensive protection for children during outdoor activities. Thanks to the reorganization of the microstructure of rare earth, cool raw yarn and seamless laminating technology, the antibacterial and cooling performance is greatly improved. We, therefore, rolled out this lightweight, portable, comfortable and antibacterial full-band UV-protective suit. CHALLENGE: The existing sun-protective clothing on the market is only able to block 320-380mm UV. Qingfeng Sun-Protective Clothing uses rare earth technology to enable it to absorb and convert 100-400 nm ultraviolet. Together with multiple functions such as durability of sun protection, temperature cooling, and antibacterial performance, this sun-protective clothing becomes a breakthrough in the industry.
