| DESIGN NAME: Readey PRIMARY FUNCTION: Reset and Detox Brush INSPIRATION: In our country, Japan, we revere a culture known as TE-ATE ( hand healing ) . We believe that our hands possess energy, and that we are able to provide healing and comfort by stroking the body with the palm of the hand. The typical hairbrush is used by holding its handle. By holding the handle, the hair is distanced from the hand. In contrast, Readey is designed to be placed in the palm of the hand, thus enables a more meticulous and protective approach to hair care. Furthermore, by incorporating a mechanism that eliminates friction, negative ions, and static electricity, Readey prevents hair damage. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: We are inspired by the concept of palm gently enveloping the scalp. By maximizing the advantage of the curve that fits comfortably in the palm, we created a visually pleasing, unique, and organic design. The tail-like section is not the handle (as in typical hairbrushes), but is deliberately shaped to fit the palm for easy handling and usability. Because we consider calming the mind” to be an important role of hair care, we put emphasis on the overall rounded contour. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Turn it on with a single touch, place the brush in your palm, and care for it by caressing your hair with your hands. Enjoy your self treatment care anytime anywhere with 6000 vibrations per minute and twin negative ions. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project began on September 2021, was press released in 31th August 2023 at The Riz-Carlton Tokyo. Pre-orders for this product have started in 1st September and are sold out.The general merket release date for this product will be November 1st 2023. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The moment it is switched on, the user will experience a pleasant vibration that refreshes both the hair and scalp. This gentle electric hairbrush is designed with the aim of giving off a sense of so easy to use and I have always wanted something like this. The significant difference with respect to the usual hairbrush is that both hair and mood becomes refreshed in a matter of seconds. Also, whereas the usual hairbrush increases static electricity, Readey enables hair care while reducing static electricity. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: W76mm x D70mm x H145mm , Voltage 3.7V USB-C , lithium polymer battery 500mAh TAGS: haircare, hairbrush, beauty care, reset & detox, personal care RESEARCH ABSTRACT: By the time I completed this product, I studied hundreds of hairbrush that were released. For my research I have visited not only Japan but also other foreign countries, Hong Kong, Korea, London, New York, Paris to see the products. At the same time, I also studied the design characteristics required by women for curl irons. The main research theme is design, material, painting, function. Based on this huge amount of research data, I completed this design. CHALLENGE: I imagined the shape of a brush that can care for your hair with the most natural movements. I visualized the shape of a unique and cute design that takes advantage of the curves of the palm. The tail-like part is not a hairbrush handle, but a deliberate shape that allows it to fit comfortably in the palm of your hand, making it easier to grip and use. By creating an overall rounded shape, I valued the curves, believing that soothing the mind is also important for hair care.
