| DESIGN NAME: Hybrid M PRIMARY FUNCTION: Gaming Chair INSPIRATION: The Hybrid M was designed for Gamers and Professionals who spend extended hours sitting in chairs, which often leads to muscle pain, discomfort, and potential health problems. Hybrid M provides a practical solution by incorporating a massage module directly into the chair frame. This innovative approach ensures that users can enjoy quick and instant relief during their lengthy gaming or working sessions. The chair fits into the user's everyday lifestyle and offer a new experience of relaxation. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Hybrid M Gaming Chair delivers an innovative approach to addressing discomfort and health issues caused by prolonged sitting. Its compact design seamlessly integrates massage technology into the chair frame. The plug-in Power Bank allows for wire-free movement. Offering up to 30 minutes of massage time and the option to continue massaging while charging, it caters to convenience. This user-centric innovation provides a holistic solution making it stand out for its practicality and comfort. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Hybrid 1 offers users an extensive range of customization options for their massages. With the accompanying app and the control stick integrated into the armrest, users can personalize their massage experience. They can adjust the massage strength, apply heat, and choose from various massage techniques, all conveniently accessible through the app. The control stick allows users to widen or narrow the massage modules, catering to their specific body specifications. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started development in Bangkok in 2022 with prototyping and pilot production completing in 2023. It took 12 months to complete. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Existing massage chairs or attachments can be bulky and occupy a lot of space, but Hybrid M is unique in its compact design. When not in use, the massage module discreetly retracts to the bottom of the chair, allowing users to sit comfortably without obstruction. This design makes it perfect for everyday use. Hybrid M features cold-molded foam and meshed fabric for improved comfort and breathability. Users can customize their massage via App and the controls on the armrest. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Hybrid M is a compact chair measuring 125cm in height, 75cm in width and depth. Compared to other market products it features a very thin profile despite the inclusion of the massage mechanism that sits right inside the seat's frame. It is a well-crafted chair that offers premium ergonomic comfort for its user. From the magnetic Lumbar support to the adjustable head-rest, Hybrid M is a truly holistic chair for everyone who suffers from symptoms of prolonged sitting. TAGS: coolermaster, hybridM, GamingChair, Massage, RESEARCH ABSTRACT: An analysis of user reviews and identifying common pain points through online videos of existing massage chairs and attachments, led to the hypothesis, that massage technology was highly enjoyable, but usability was often hindered by the need to “prep” the product for use and its reliance on a nearby power source. As a result, our primary objective was to develop a product that would seamlessly integrate into a user's life free from cables to provide a frictionless, enjoyable experience. CHALLENGE: The Hybrid M distinguishes itself by utilizing a wireless power source. The built-in power bank is a carefully developed feature that frees the user from the limitations of a power cable. This is a game-changer as users can naturally move around without worrying about tripping over or breaking cables. The power bank provides up to 30 minutes of massage time, the recommended duration for two sessions. Charging the power bank directly at a socket allows users to use the chair without any downtime.
