DESIGN NAME: 3D Vein Viewer Locator
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Medical
INSPIRATION: Intravenous therapy (IV) works quickly and is often used for shock and severe trauma. For this reason, up to 70 percent of hospitalized patients require a peripheral venous catheter (PIVC) during their stay.
In 2022, Cambodia's newborn mortality rate accounted for 50 percent of child deaths under five. In such contexts of low birth rates and high mortality, improving newborn survival is crucial. Our product aids healthcare professionals in accurate IV procedures, enhancing healthcare quality.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 1. In pediatric patients, due to thicker tissue layers, the initial success rate on the first attempt is less than 35 percent.
2. The 3D direct mode provides clear visualization, preventing IV infiltration, and increasing the success rate by 30 percent.
3. Users familiar with the vein injection posture achieve a one-time success rate 13 percent higher than others, reaching 94 percent.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Equipped with 2D and 3D dual mode
In a 3D Direct Mode (peripheral" Back of hand, back of foot"), it clearly shows the small veins of obese patients. If the IV cannot be performed at the distal end due to injury, it can quickly switch to 2D Reflective Mode (proximal" Arms, lower legs") for performing a proximal IV.
Membrane keypads
The physical keypads improve the problem of touch screen malfunction caused by blood and raindrop interference in other competing products.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: 3D Imaging Patent Optical Technology
The fisheye lens focuses invisible light upwards and refracts it through the moisture in the affected limb, obtaining clearer images compared to other competitors.
Ensuring Consistency in Insertion Posture
The user interface is designed to match the posture familiar to healthcare professionals, resulting in a 13 percent increase in the first-time insertion success rate to 94 percent, thereby enhancing the quality of emergency care when compared to other competitive products.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Most intravenous injection personnel are nurses and firefighters, and generally they are not trained in the use of ultrasound and it requires the use of gel, which increases the risk of infection. When facing extreme patients, they can only perform first aid with bone acupuncture.
In Vein Viewer, the projection display is prone to errors and visual fatigue, which can hinder blood collection. "3D direct" has better display effects than "2D reflective" technology, so we developed this product.
CHALLENGE: Display Quality: We use advanced optical calculations to ensure clear imaging for individuals with various skin tones, high body fat, fine blood vessels, and infants.
Mold Design: Collaboration with mold design engineers ensures cost-effective molding methods while preserving requirements unique hook-like design.
Aesthetics and Durability: We achieve a slim, robust design with curved blood drainage using aluminum and specialized mechanical design, delivering a perfect appearance.
