| DESIGN NAME: Blue White Rabbit PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ceramic Tableware INSPIRATION: Blue Rabbit series is a coffee ceramic tableware.Using Jingdezhen 1300 degrees high temperature white porcelain applique tracing technology twice fired.The design theme of the work is based on the traditional rabbit pattern of the Ming and Qing dynasties,inspired by the traditional Chinese decorative form of Tuanhua,combined with the classic blue glaze and pastel ceramic technology,the ceramic picture is decorated with a free arc,which is presented by the cutting composition method. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The design inspiration of Blue rabbit coffee set is that the author wants to explore interesting, lovely and lively things from Chinese traditional culture. Rabbit is the mascot of China and one of the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac. In my design, I used the traditional flower inspiration to represent rabbits, and drew rabbits in spheres like bubbles, showing rabbits as free and happy mascots in my eyes. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Ceramic is made of fine clay at a high temperature of 1300 degrees Celsius. The decorative pattern on the surface is pasted with a film similar to that on a packaging carton, and is attached to the ceramic at a temperature of 720 degrees, which not only saves the time and effort of manual painting, but also can achieve mass production. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in November 2020 in Jingdezhen, China, and was completed in June 2021 in Jingdezhen, China. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: In the design process, the size of the work needs to be ergonomic. This is also in line with production standards. Consider applicability when designing decorative patterns. In the process of becoming a hard ceramic, we need to be patient and careful, and only by remaining calm can we turn mud into a perfect porcelain. Decorative patterns also need PS to draw more accurate lines, and multi-level coloring to achieve the final effect. All in all, the production process of this coffee set needs to maintain the spirit of the work, but also to ensure the texture. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Coffee pot: height 280mm × Width 120mm Coffee cup: height 110mm × Width 100mm Small coffee cup: height 80mm × Width 80mm Milk tank: height 110mm × width 100mm Dessert plate: height 250mm × Width 250mm Cup and saucer: height 120mm × Width 120mm Sugar tank: height 130mm × width 120mm TAGS: Jingdezhen, Ceramic, Rabbit, Blue and White, Arc cut, Chinese tradition RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This product is mainly based on coffee set as the research type, is inspired by traditional Chinese rabbit pattern and group flower, and uses the performance method of picture segmentation. Combining traditional Chinese decorative elements with contemporary visual art. In the production process, ceramic molding is not easy, but fortunately, it has been overcome. The production time is long, and I am very satisfied with the final effect. I believe that when using this coffee set, the auspicious rabbit pattern can be around us and bring us a happy and lively feeling. CHALLENGE: As we all know, ceramics in the firing process is the first experience of the mud injection this link, if there is no good way, then a ceramic will be different thickness, and in the production process, to become hard, regular ceramics is not so easy. When designing decorative patterns, I also need to collect a lot of materials. In order not to have the same patterns and avoid all bad factors, I choose to use traditional Chinese patterns, so as to avoid the same patterns in the market. Therefore, how to make the ceramics regular and the special decoration pattern has become my main consideration.
