PRIMARY FUNCTION: Metal Bookmark
INSPIRATION: The inspiration for this innovative metal bookmark design stems from the unique architectural features of the school. It aims to capture and convey the vibrant and diverse campus life, as well as the enjoyment of cherished moments, in a way that is rich in artistic sensibility and creativity. At the heart of the design concept lies the use of ribbon-like elements to interconnect several iconic buildings, symbolizing the spirit of students navigating the campus with a sense of ease.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The design of this creative metal bookmark amalgamates distinctive campus architecture, ribbon-like elements, colorful campus life, and the enjoyment of wonderful moments, creating a visual experience that resonates with students' emotions and cherished memories. Through this design, the designer aims to kindle students' love for campus life and creativity, transforming each reading moment into a meaningful journey.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: When individuals need to turn a page, they should delicately take out the bookmark from between the pages, proceed to flip the page to the desired position, and then reinsert the bookmark to mark their new reading position.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in June 2023 in Shenzhen, China and finished in August 2023 in Shenzhen, China.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Cutting graphic shapes on metal copper material, and digitally printing colored patterns.

CHALLENGE: Cutting and engraving metal materials can be more intricate compared to paper, requiring designs that are more meticulous and precise. Intricate patterns, details, and color combinations can raise the complexity of both design and production. The process entails a series of techniques such as laser color printing, polishing, painting, and coating.
