| DESIGN NAME: Fluffy Bread PRIMARY FUNCTION: Pet Bed INSPIRATION: Drawing inspiration from bread, this pet bed is both practical and visually attractive. Its soft, fluffy texture contributes to a comfortable experience for pets, and gives a sense of intimacy visually to make people want to approach and touch the product. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This pet bed is designed for rest, entertainment and sleep of pets, which boasts the texture of fluffy bread to be comfortable enough for pets. Upholding the idea of Italian aesthetics, the pet bed is shaped into a sofa styled in a minimalist, elegant manner. In this way, the product can perfectly blend into home environments of various styles and strengthen the emotional connection between people and pets, thereby helping to create a space where harmonious symbiosis of them is realized. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The memory foam for human use, neither too soft nor too hard, provides enough support when ensuring good comfort, where pets can fully relax their bodies with their weight well distributed. The structured velvet fabric effectively resists to scratches by pets. The shape of a sofa harmonizes with any home environment, bringing pets a strong sense of belonging. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Shenzhen in September 2022, was completed in Shenzhen in February 2023, and came online in July 2023. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The memory foam for human use features slow rebound property, and thus avoids the problem of sagging after long-time use. The delicate, soft structured velvet fabric is resistant to wear and scratch, so as to prolong the service life of the pet bed. The base made of reconstituted white ash wood is manually polished by craftsmen, which is uneasy to deform, and is free from any harmful substance to protect health of pets. However, pet beds currently on the market are largely homogeneous, and usually fail to strike a balance between practicality and visual pleasure. They also have strong individuality and thus are difficult to blend into home environments. CHALLENGE: The challenge is how to eliminate disharmony between pet beds and home environments. The design team, following the style of Italian furniture, has designed the product as a simple, elegant sofa to harmonize with other furniture. Such a design not only ensures a consistent style of a home environment, but also enhances a strong sense of belonging for pets to enable harmonious symbiosis of people and pets in a space.
