| DESIGN NAME: Mushroom PRIMARY FUNCTION: Pet Bowl INSPIRATION: Inspired by the shapes of mushrooms, the pet bowl is practical and ecologically beautiful. Following the mushroom growth, the pet bowl is outlined by smooth and gentle curves to evoke a sense of vitality. Incorporating botanical elements into pet appliances aims to encourage appreciation and respect for nature. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This pet bowl is designed with care for the health and well-being of pets to bring a pleasant dining experience for lovely creatures. The height, shape, and depth of the pet bowl are designed in line with physiology and eating habits of pets to ensure pets have easy meals while preventing food spills. Plus, its mushroom-shaped design adds more natural elements to the dining environment. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The reasonable height and round wide mouth ensures a comfortable dining experience for pets. Its inwardly converging bowl grooves can keep food or water inside the bowl to avoid splashing food or water out when pets are overly passionate or rough to enjoy their food, thus keeping the dining area neat. In addition, the product of various sizes has a shallow and deep bowl shape, which can separate wet and dry food. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was launched in September 2022, completed in February 2023 in Shenzhen and published in July 2023 in Shenzhen. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Pottery artisans carefully polish the clay blanks by hand, and then glaze and fire them with traditional pottery-making techniques, incorporating the culture of clay and fire into each pet bowl in the form of cultural imprints. The underglaze process can firmly seal the colorful paint inside the bowl without any color loss, which also avoids the dissolution or penetration of harmful substances for food safety. However, the dull-looking and taste-lacking pet bowls available on the market are designed causally, making feeding or water difficult with food or water splash, increasing the cleanup tasks. CHALLENGE: The major challenge for pet bowl research and development is being outstanding among similar products and giving birth to practical and appealing pet bowls. Drawing inspiration from mother nature and learning from the shape of mushrooms, the pet bowl has a unique aesthetic design. The scientific design also offers optimized food enjoyment for pets, and the smooth and easy-to-clean ceramic bowl surface keeps food residue or bacteria residue away to safeguard the health of pets.
