PRIMARY FUNCTION: Brand Identity
INSPIRATION: The dynamic and modular new brand identity for the CDU Hamburg now gives the party a new image - fresh, open and communicative instead of monotonous, outdated and expressionless. The aim is: How do we shape a modern, social, bourgeois party of the future? The party must speak about tomorrow from today and not from today about yesterday. The new design aroused curiosity and once again presented the party as a cohesive entity that can stand for a modern and liberal city party.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Development of a new visual identity for the German Party CDU Hamburg. The brand relaunch has given the party a new image. It's fresh, open and communicative instead of monotonous, outdated and expressionless. The relaunch affected the entire identity: uniform visual language, responsive websites for all organizational units and contemporary design elements. In this way, the bond with the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and its citizens should be better emphasized.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The relaunched brand identity lets people see its party attributes immediately, so that playing a very good brand communication effect.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in April 2022 in Hamburg and finished June 2023.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The word and figurative mark of the Hamburg CDU, commonly known as the logo, consists of the word mark CDU and the figurative mark Hamburg symbol.
The elements combine with the figurative mark on a dark blue circular carrier surface to form the word-figurative mark.
The Hamburg symbol shows a castle with 3 towers. The middle tower should symbolize the medieval Mariendom, the two stars on the outer towers, so-called Mariensterne, after St. Mary, the patron saint of the city in the Middle Ages.
The figurative mark is also used on its own. The logo can be individually filled with images and colors as a design element.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The size of the brand logo is not uniformly stipulated, and the size can be set by itself according to the actual media.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We researched the background of the party, the nature of the city society, the scope of the party's main topics, and the culture of the party, which we integrated into the brand image.
CHALLENGE: The client wanted to express too much content, but often too much information will disturb the key information. Finally, we persuaded the party representatives to mainly use abstract shield to express the protection attribute of their brand image.
