DESIGN NAME: Eidon Avec
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Beer Packaging
INSPIRATION: We have created a series of mythical narratives for this beer collection, drawing inspiration from various European mythologies while crafting a unique story system that doesn't strictly belong to any known mythological tradition. These narratives blend elements from mythological tales across Europe and fuse them with the art of beer brewing, resulting in a magical and enchanting backstory for this beer collection.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: We have created a gift box set consisting of four individual boxes, tailored to the client's request for a tasting series of four different types of beers. This caters to the growing curiosity in the Chinese market for various beer flavors. Additionally, the stylish and high-quality packaging of the gift box set aligns with the cultural tradition of gifting friends and family during festivals in the Chinese market. We have optimized this product to meet the client's requirements.
In the creation of the Eidon Avec Beer “Epoch-making series” of products, our goal is not only to develop the brand's specialized visual language assets, but also to use a brand story with continuity and drama to "induce" consumers to take the first step in exploratory purchasing, and ultimately form an irreplaceable relationship of trust with "Eidon Avec".

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in October 2022 in China Guangzhou and Finished in March 2023,the product is now on China's market to sale.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: In this project, we recommend using 1-liter tin cans as the packaging medium. The choice of these cans is primarily driven by considerations of the target audience, who may prefer larger volumes of beer, and also because the larger can size allows for more vivid and impactful illustrations. The illustrations are the standout feature of this design. Our experienced artists have meticulously conceptualized, hand-drawn, and digitally rendered four original and meaningful artworks that convey the allure of this product through imagery.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Each aluminum bottle has a height of 250 millimeters, and the external gift box measures 420 millimeters in length, 270 millimeters in height, and 130 millimeters in depth. The gift box can accommodate 4 aluminum bottles.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In the early stages of receiving the product design project, we conducted market research regarding the packaging dimensions and design direction. Despite having several years of experience serving beer manufacturers and some understanding of the market, given that craft beer is a relatively new phenomenon in the Chinese market, we decided to delve deeper into research.
First, before settling on a design direction, we observed the existing craft beer brands and packaging in major supermarkets. Second, we extensively researched top design styles worldwide using platforms like Google, Pinterest, and Behance.
Once we determined the design direction, we also collected a wealth of information using the same methods for crafting the narrative and illustrations of the story. Ultimately, we successfully designed a product that satisfied both us and the client.
CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge we encountered was in determining the design concept and the direction we wanted the story series to take. My team and I had limited knowledge of European mythologies, so we had to go through extensive research to ensure that our concept was sound. However, we believed that as long as a design is conceived in the mind and brought to life, it embodies the essence of design, regardless of the need for substantial research.
