DESIGN NAME: Travel Buddy
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Browser Game
INSPIRATION: Bloom developed the browser game "Travel Buddy" to introduce new Holiday Extras products. Gamification is used to address the player's personal level, and the multi-layered game mechanics enable users to learn more about themselves and their personal travel behavior.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: In the interactive browser game, graphic elements move parallactically as you navigate, creating a virtual travel experience. The player advises a couple on planning their vacation and gives tips for a successful trip. The advice provides the results for a humorous travel type test that reveals the player's own vacation personality. Meanwhile, the player also internalizes the wide range of products.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The virtual journey is controlled by the player by scrolling or swiping on the screen. During the game, a total of seven questions about their travel behavior appear, which the player must answer. At the end of the game, the player receives the result of their travel type test and a shopping voucher as a reward.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started with the concept for a game mechanic, which was then wrapped in a story. Subsequently, designs for the look and feel were developed and the journey elements were illustrated. After the artwork, the programming of the game with its parallax effects and the result matrix of the travel type test began. The landing page went live in early 2023.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: In addition to concept and text, creative work also includes storytelling through parallax user experience. As the player navigates, they influence the movement of numerous graphic elements, creating an exciting and interactive journey. The changing positions of the objects were individually programmed for each affected element, resulting in a smooth parallax effect for the browser game.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: As a browser game, there is a responsive design for laptops, smartphones, tablets, and other devices.

CHALLENGE: The creative challenge consisted of introducing the target audience to the company's wide range of products in a playful manner and internalizing their benefits through concrete examples. To determine how parallax navigation creates an impressive user experience, other games and media were analyzed.
