PRIMARY FUNCTION: Oral Irrigator
INSPIRATION: The K30 oral irrigator is designed specifically for children aged 3 to 14. It has a lovely and unique appearance, resembling the No-Face Character from the movie "Spirited Away", and is loved by many children. The overall design style is simple, with bright colors and minimal decorations, which meet the aesthetic preferences of today’s children.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The K30 oral irrigator is the industry's first one to utilize top-level sensing technology. It automatically stops the water jet when it senses that it is at a certain distance from the lower jaw, ensuring that the water column does not pose a threat to the child's safety. It has a long-lasting battery life and can be used for up to a year on a single charge. During charging, it also has an automatic sterilization function, with an effectiveness of up to 99.99%.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: During daily oral care, users can select their preferred mode using the mode buttons. The chosen mode is displayed on the digital screen located at the "big eye" of the oral irrigator. Afterward, pressing the power button activates the sensor, and the sensor icon on the digital screen will illuminate. Users then place the nozzle into their mouth, initiating the operation of the oral irrigator. Once the nozzle is removed from the mouth, the oral irrigator immediately ceases the oral care process.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project commenced in June 2021 in Shanghai, with research and development concluding in January 2023 in Shanghai. The product was officially launched in June 2023.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The Bixdo K30 children's oral irrigator is equipped with two sensors at the top interior, innovatively applying Time-of-Flight (ToF) laser sensing technology commonly used in smart driving to the oral care field. This achieves higher-precision intelligent protection, capable of real-time monitoring of operational status through smart algorithms for precise identification. It prevents unexpected situations such as water spraying disorder, ultimately achieving a 0.05s rapid response and 6.5mm macro precision measurement. It monitors operational status in real time and stops spraying when away from the mouth.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The design process involved conducting actual user research, addressing the hand sizes of children at different ages to create an optimal and comfortable grip for diverse users. On-site visits were conducted to gain insights into the genuine needs of parents and users.
User feedback and input from medical professionals were utilized to determine the most suitable water pressure for children. Additionally, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) were employed to test the acceptability of the product's appearance and assess pricing strategies.
CHALLENGE: The K30 children oral irrigator is equipped with two sensors inside its top, and the research and development team dedicated an entire year to the process—from functional design to material selection, and finally, effect verification. The team went through two iterations of sensor technologies, ultimately innovating by successfully applying Time-of-Flight (ToF) laser sensing technology commonly used in smart driving to the field of oral care.
This achievement allows for a higher precision in intelligent protection, with the ability to monitor operational status in real-time. Through intelligent algorithms, the device accurately recognizes user actions, preventing unexpected situations such as water spraying disorder. The result is an impressive 0.05-second rapid response, along with 6.5mm macro precision measurement. The device continuously monitors operational status in real-time and ceases spraying when away from the mouth.
