By providing simultaneous input and output MagSafe charging and powerful magnets, the MS 2.0 power bank offers users a convenient and efficient charging solution. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The MS 2.0 power bank is a groundbreaking product that offers simultaneous input and output. MagSafe charges wirelessly, allowing users to charge their phones and power bank wirelessly simultaneously. It's powerful magnets and sleek design make it a must-have for anyone looking for a convenient and efficient charging solution. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The MS 2.0 power bank allows for simultaneous input and output MagSafe charging wirelessly, providing users with a convenient and efficient charging solution. The product also features powerful magnets and a phone stand, allowing users to attach their phone and power bank to any magnetic surface and keep their workspace neat and tidy. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The MS 2.0 power bank was developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which made communication with the factory in mainland China difficult. The product was launched in Oct 2022 on the crowdfunding platform IndieGoGo and has since gained popularity, selling over 3,000 units in just a few months. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The MS 2.0 power bank features a unique circuit board design that allows for simultaneous input and output MagSafe charging wirelessly. The body structure is made from aluminium, which dissipates heat efficiently and charges safely. The product also features a ring of 36 magnets on each side, providing a strong magnetic pull and compatibility with the MagSafe ecosystem. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: MS 2.0 power bank measures 102 x 64 x 17 mm and weighs 160g. It is available in Space Grey colour and has a charging efficiency of 15W input & output and a Type-C PD charging efficiency of 18W input & output. It has an actual 5000mAh battery with 1.5C, supporting powerful 15W wireless output charging and 15W wireless input charging. The product has received widespread acclaim, winning both the German Design Award 2023 and the Hong Kong Smart Design Award 2023. CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge in developing the MS 2.0 power bank was the COVID-19 pandemic, which made communication with the factory in mainland China difficult. Additionally, as the first power bank to offer both wireless input and output MagSafe charging at once, the team faced multiple obstacles in developing a new circuit board. However, through perseverance and determination, the team overcame these challenges and successfully realized the design of the MS 2.0 power bank.
