PRIMARY FUNCTION: Transport Goods Vehicle
INSPIRATION: The rapid rise of online shopping has led to a large volume of packages that require manual handling. In the transfer of goods by trucks, the unloading area is often filled with numerous large trucks, making it difficult to have sufficient space for sorting the goods. Sometimes, the goods need to be transferred to other trucks, which can result in inconsistencies in the unloading surface height due to different vehicle types. Additionally, the variable distances at which trucks are parked can lead to transportation discrepancies. The reliance on manual labor for handling and improper body posture can cause a decline in physical stamina and overall transportation efficiency.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: COS Conveyer PRO is a vehicle designed to swiftly transport goods from large trucks to other trucks. It features an extendable and adjustable conveyor platform, allowing for the transfer of goods between trucks with different unloading heights. It can be used in conjunction with distribution vehicles and autonomous transport carts to efficiently distribute goods to various locations in the warehouse industry. This system reduces the frequency of manual handling and eliminates the time-consuming process of multiple transfers, thereby improving worker safety and overall efficiency in the goods transfer process.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: When consumers purchase products online, the COS Conveyer PRO system begins by verifying the product inventory. If the inventory is insufficient, a notification is sent to the supplier, prompting the logistics provider to deliver the goods and transmit the information. Simultaneously, the COS Conveyer PRO main vehicle guides the positioning of the incoming truck, reducing the distance for unloading and placement of the goods. The modular intelligent cart is then utilized to assist in transporting the goods to the shelves and other distribution points, forming a comprehensive warehouse service system. This system accelerates the internal operational time, reduces the risk of fatigue-related injuries among personnel, and optimizes the overall efficiency of the warehouse operations.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in July 2022, collaborating with KENDA RUBBER from October. A preliminary model was created in November 2022, and adjustments to the details began early this year. In late March, a 1:4 scale vehicle model was produced. All processes were carried out in Taiwan.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: COS Conveyer PRO is a device with a folding delivery area that extends based on vehicle distance and position. It has adjustable tire arms to change vehicle height for different working requirements. This versatile bridge accommodates vehicles of varying heights and adapts to different work environments, enhancing efficiency and reducing costs in warehouses, factories, and logistics centers.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: COS Conveyer PRO main vehicle dimensions, without extending or lifting the conveyor platform, have a platform height of approximately 100 cm, a vehicle length of 185 cm, and a vehicle width of 80 cm. The main vehicle tires utilize thermoplastic carbon fiber composite material, consisting of a carbon fiber core and an outer layer covered with inorganic fibers. These tires are lightweight, have high tensile strength, are rust-resistant, and are primarily used to enhance seismic resistance to accommodate different weights of transported goods.
The modular intelligent car, without installed modules, has a body length and width of 96 cm and a height of approximately 50 cm. The intelligent cart tires utilize aerogel, with aerogel evenly distributed throughout the tire and an inner design that forms a complete ring of aerogel. The material is extremely lightweight and provides excellent insulation against weight. Coupled with a four-wheel steering system, the tires are lighter, have higher weight-bearing capacity, and provide greater convenience in mobility.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Design background: Influenced by the epidemic situation, due to the limited action, consumers have moved their purchase demand online to form a new shopping habit. Shopping through online orders has led to the rapid rise of online shopping and cooperation with the logistics industry so that goods can be delivered to people in the shortest time. However, such a large number of packages need to be handled manually.
Problems: 1.The transfer space is narrow.
Many large trucks are parked in the unloading area. It is difficult to exchange and sort goods, the urban planning land is expensive, and there is not enough unloading space.The cargo handling tolerance distance is 3.64 parking spaces in average.
2. Logistics drivers work in a high-temperature environment for a long time.
Logistics drivers also have to help the parcels sent by merchants and consumers in the warehouse to be sorted and loaded into trucks in sequence. However, there is no air-conditioning equipment at the cargo transfer site. In the operation site close to 40 degrees.
3.Problems encountered in transshipment.
Since the weight of the goods is often carried by manpower, the trucks need to be close to the delivery location to stop for loading and unloading. However, sometimes the goods are transferred to other trucks, and the height of the unloading plane is inconsistent due to the different styles of vehicles, and a large number of manual handling is used.
CHALLENGE: Originally, COS Conveyer PRO used hydraulic lifting but faced operational inconveniences due to the impact on vehicle size and maneuverability in narrow spaces. After consulting with KENDA RUBBER experts, we replaced hydraulic with mechanical lifting and integrated modular intelligent cars. This comprehensive vehicle system resolves manual handling issues, reduces space occupied by machinery, and improves work efficiency, enabling easier goods transportation and enhancing warehousing profitability.
