| DESIGN NAME: Insight Cat PRIMARY FUNCTION: Full Stack Monitoring Platform INSPIRATION: My inspiration came from my technical or research background in IT infrastructure and monitoring, which allowed me to identify areas where improvements could be made and design a platform that meets the needs of IT professionals in a more efficient and effective way. Additionally, my desire to create a unique design pattern, from scratch, for the platform, including dashboards, set-up monitors, synthetics, logs, insights, and incident timelines, reflects a passion for innovation. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Insight Cat Full Stack Monitoring Platform appears to be an innovative project that aims to simplify the process of monitoring and managing IT infrastructure. The unique design patterns you have created, such as the dashboards, set-up monitors, synthetics, logs, insights, and incident timelines, are impressive and reflect a deep understanding of the needs of IT professionals. My motivation to create a monitoring platform that requires less time and effort to set up than competitors like DataDog. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Insight Cat is designed to be an intuitive, user-friendly platform that simplifies full-stack monitoring for businesses of all sizes. With its easy-to-navigate dashboard, users can quickly view and manage their applications, servers, and databases in real-time. The platform's intuitive design promotes efficient and effective interaction with the audience, making it easy for end-users to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and optimize performance. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Insight Cat - Full Stack Monitoring Platform was conceptualized and developed in April 2021. As one of the lead designers on the project, I played a crucial role in its development and success. Our team was thrilled to receive praise and recognition for the platform, including several prestigious industry awards and positive feedback from users. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: For our project, we took a comprehensive approach to design, starting with brainstorming sessions with both our team and clients. We also conducted extensive data analysis and prediction, usability testing, and performance evaluation to ensure that our design met the highest standards of quality and functionality. In terms of software, we used Figma with Design System components and Photoshop to create the design, and implemented Vue.js for the front end and Golang for the back end. Our focus on cutting-edge technologies and design methodologies resulted in a seamless, efficient product that is both visually appealing and highly functional. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: vue.js, golang, php, aws, html, css TAGS: monitoring, logs, synthetics, dashboards, notification, apm, insights, SaaS, DevOps, Application Monitoring, Alerting System RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The development of Insight Cat was informed by extensive research into the needs of modern businesses. The team conducted surveys, interviews, and user testing to gather insights into the pain points and challenges faced by businesses when it comes to monitoring their applications and infrastructure. This research helped to inform the design and functionality of the platform, ensuring that it meets the needs of users and provides a seamless monitoring experience. CHALLENGE: The development of Insight Cat presented several creative challenges, including the need to balance simplicity with functionality and scalability. The team worked to overcome these challenges by prioritizing user feedback and using an agile methodology to iterate and improve the design. Additionally, the team had to navigate the complexities of cloud infrastructure and microservices architecture to ensure that the platform was reliable and scalable.
