| DESIGN NAME: Stealth PRIMARY FUNCTION: Chair INSPIRATION: This is an easy chair inspired by stealth fighters. Currently, in Okinawa, where I live, a new stealth fighter is deployed with the US Air Force. For us living in Okinawa, the Taiwan War is a big problem. Stealth fighters will be a deterrent to the Taiwan War. I consider stealth fighters as a deterrent a "symbol of keep peace." UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This easy chair is designed for contemporary living spaces. It is creatively constructed with thin plates. The seat, legs and backrest of the easy chair are inspired by the wings of an airplane. The center 3mm of the 9mm thick plate is sandwiched with a metal frame. This structure creates a unique form. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: If you install the chair in the room, it will be a cool modern space. It is a very comfortable easy chair. Sitting in this chair makes me think of the cockpit of a stealth fighter. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in April 2022 in Okinawa and finished in January2023 in Okinawa, and was exhibited in International Furniture Fair Tokyo in February 2023. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: I developed materials for the strength of the chair. After repeated strength tests, the chair was completed. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: W800mm D700mm H760mm SH40mm Plywood and steel sandwich material. TAGS: Stealth, war, Ukraine and Russia, Taiwan and China, chair design RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Ukraine and Russia are currently at war. It is a very shocking thing for the people of the world. Right next to Okinawa where we live is Taiwan. People fear that Taiwan and China may go to war. I strongly feel that stealth fighters are taking off again today to maintain peace. CHALLENGE: In order to make the material thinner, we developed a material sandwiched between plywood and iron to increase the strength of the legs and seat.
