| DESIGN NAME: Perceptual Encyclopedia PRIMARY FUNCTION: Art Photography INSPIRATION: People often see the sky as a whole macro background, and rarely observe an individual cloud, unless it really appears alone. In fact, if we don’t look up, nothing will happen UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: What is interesting is that when we gaze at a cloud or a part of the cloud layer, this way of looking can immediately produce a dialogue. As the airflow changes, the shape of the cloud also changes. Every cloud is irreproducible. This dialogue process is more like responding to one’s own emotional thoughts. And here and now, it is also hard to reproduce. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Leaving concepts and labels, conventions, and just purely responding to oneself in the dialogue with the clouds PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in 2022 and is a long-term plan. The reason why it is called Encyclopedia is because I hope to observe the relationship between personal emotions and everything like discovering natural species. The cloud series is the first step; on the other hand, this name has a slightly ironic meaning, because I doubt whether the content of humanities and social sciences, especially individual feelings, perceptions, connections between people, including creativity, can be applied to scientific methodology.
