DESIGN NAME: Paraiso
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Paper Swatch Book
INSPIRATION: The inspiration for the project was the colors and texture of the decorative papers presented in the pattern book. The colors of these papers reminded us of a recent trip to Mexico, so we decided to combine the colors and patterns presented in printing and printing decorations in such a way as to imitate those that can be found in Central and South America.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The sampler presents a whole range of papers and cardboards for printing and decorating available from the distributor. All products are described in detail so that you can easily find the one that best suits your project. In addition, the presenter on 8 sheets presents the possibility of printing and decorating selected papers, which can be an additional inspiration for customers.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: An ideal work tool for the creative, thanks to three sets with professionally arranged collections of decorative papers, it facilitates the selection of the appropriate raw material in terms of color, texture and weight. An additional support is a visual booklet, which is a supplement to the paper sample, it presents a wide range of different types of prints and refinements presented on the paper samples. The whole is complemented by a functional cover with pockets for the described sets.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Before developing a pattern book for decorative papers, we had to conduct a number of studies on the best selection of printing techniques for a given substrate. This required many attempts at printing and embossing with different foils with different adhesive strengths. We also had to develop special dies and multi-level matrices that took into account the specificity of the fibers found in the raw materials used, especially natural ones, such as hemp, grass or cotton.
CHALLENGE: The pattern book of decorative papers must combine functionality with the correct visual message. The collection has been divided into three sets: recycled, colored and white papers to help the designer choose the right raw material. The visual book was, next to the cover, the most difficult element of the entire pattern book, we showed a number of comprehensive printing activities in it, such as offset printing with Pantone colors, screen printing, hot foil stamping, paper embossing and die cutting.
