PRIMARY FUNCTION: Air Care Appliances
INSPIRATION: The Design Strategy solves the main brand issue North America is not fully aligned with consumer perceptions. Furthermore, in spite of the product's functionalities being totally relevant in this market, the product family was not communicating its features. The challenge with the project, brings a new brand language, offering differentiation and a premium message to a new product family within the market in which it operates, adding value without incurring increasing costs during production.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: It´s a new Design Strategy for an appliance’s brand, positioning the brand in North America. The visual brand language (VBL) has been created to communicate the company's personality and might equip designers with a powerful tool, to control the creative process, expressing the brand’s core attributes and values for a collection of environment care appliances. This Design Strategy emphasizes affordable innovation in home comfort products as well as a human-centered design approach.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The new line of heaters, air purifiers, and fans features a sleek and modern design that is aesthetically pleasing and reflects its functionality. The design incorporates a range of metallic materials and LEDs, creating a premium look that speaks to the product's quality. Aspects of manufacturing have been taken into account when creating the form, ensuring that the product is both visually appealing and fully functional. The combination of colors, materials, and finishes allows users to recognize the product. The design also supports the company's commitment to sustainability.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in November 2022 in Brazil and China and finishes in February 2023. The project has been made in Brazil and the technical developments has been made in China with technologies suppliers. The production will occur in China.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: For environment care appliances: These include metals such as aluminum and stainless steel; plastics such as ABS and polycarbonate; and a range of LEDs. Additionally, paints and finishes have been used to create the desired look and feel. All of these materials have been carefully selected to ensure that the product is attractive, durable, and reliable. The design also supports the company's commitment to sustainability, helping to reduce its environmental impact by using materials that are recycled, recyclable, as well as energy-efficient components.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: For environment care appliances: heaters around 5.51 x 6.69 x 10.31 inches, air purifiers 10.4 x 10.4 x 19.8 inches, and fans around 10.5 x 8.8 x 29.5 inches (depending on model).

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Desk Field, Consumer Insights, Trend Mappings. We collect all data through immersive process including consumer, designers and multidisciplinary teams (marketing, engineer, anthropology, etc.). Objective: Bring innovation and differentiation. Method: Consumer-Centric Insights with Design based approach to solving problems. Steps: Research (map and understand), Conceptualize (alternative generation) and Visualize (renderings). The outcome was a new VBL system that considers cultural factors even as objective aesthetics.
CHALLENGE: The work process consisted of creating the conceptual definitions that form the brand platform, verbal identity, and visual identity. The challenge was to develop a verbal language and make it tangible in the context of brand and in the development of its products. This VBL is featured in all product levels (shape, colors, graphics, interface, UX, and CMF), inspiring the project team and creating an emotional bond between the brand and the consumer. Furthermore, it provides direction to evaluate the success of a product and express the brand’s core attributes and values.
