| DESIGN NAME: Ye Lounge PRIMARY FUNCTION: Garden Restaurant INSPIRATION: "ye" is the pinyin in Chinese, which means wild,free,original ecology. Inspired by the desire of people to escape from the sense of city and to live a free life style in the wild.In the past three years, people have been passively restricted to a lot of "freedom", unable to date and meet freely, So the trend of camping rose rapidly, but camping is an activity which is not suitable for vast majority of urban people,Therefore, ye Lounge provides a outdoor scene in the city and comfortable dinning. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is a new restaurant that has created miracles under COVID-19. It was born in 2022 in Beijing, the most heavily controlled city in China. Its birth is brave and special. The site is located in an old industrial park, not on the street, not in the business district, without the flow of people, or even unknown. The reason why it is so brave is that the designer, as the co-founders, is good at immersive space design. Its "natural outdoor" has attracted countless young people to take photos and joy it. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The entrance of the restaurant is designed as a bamboo forest. Every guest will pass through a smoky forest, see the cracked trees, and walk into the outdoor garden, filled with cool water mist, flowers, grass and reeds drifting with the wind, guests can enjoy to sit down, enjoy drinks and desserts, the sun is setting, and firefly lights are swaying in the bamboo forest at night; you can choose indoors in cold weather, the bonfire in the camp and the misty stream are in front of you, sitting on the stream Enjoy dinner while listening to the sound of running water by your side or in a tent. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was started in April 2022 and the scene reconstruction and decoration were carried out. The design concept was designed and completed in April 2022. After nearly three months of construction and production, it was officially opened in July 2022. The interior part was completed and put into operation on November 15, 2022. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Outdoor part: The garden needs to fully consider and solve the planting environment, soil, and the basic engineering under the soil - irrigation, and drainage system. We removed the hard ground, replaced the nutrient soil and planting soil, and laid a hole-shaped plastic pipe under the soil for natural drainage. Indoor part: The small streams, shrubs, and vegetation that only appear in the suburbs and in the wild were subversively moved into the second floor of the workshop. the dining area was covered with 5cm thick sandstones, together with low tables, campfires, and tents for camping. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The outdoor part of the restaurant is about 800 square meters, the outdoor garden covers about 200 square meters, about 30 seats, the outdoor seating area is about 600 square meters, about 80 seats, and the indoor garden covers about 280 square meters, about 50 seats. The restaurant provides afternoon tea, dinner, barbecue and foreign wine, matching with the outdoor lifestyle. CHALLENGE: 1. For the natural effect, use real bark, branches and styrofoam to make pure handmade tree trunks, cover the original steel frame buildings in the site, and form a small forest; 2.In the indoor second floor space of the factory building, the construction of an indoor creek water system is extremely difficult because it is not the ground floor, and multiple factors such as load-bearing and waterproof need to be considered. 3. Beijing has four distinct seasons, and the planting of outdoor garden plants must conform to the four seasons of plants and the matching of varieties.
