DESIGN NAME: Baidu Smart City
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Data Visualization Dig Screen
INSPIRATION: The daily operation of China's 691 cities requires governments' scientific management and flexible scheduling. When city crises come, the governments need an intelligent management tool to conduct cross-departmental command effectively, obtain a large amount of data to monitor the city operation, and dispatch the surrounding shelters, hospitals, or other emergency supplies, to protect civilian populations.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This large screen is designed for the command centers of various cities in China, which satisfies the government to monitor the urban situation through three-dimensional maps and visual charts and assist in decision-making. Use AI to analyze and predict cities' crisis to prevent great damage in time. Quickly dispatch rescue personnel and emergency equipments through communication systems and intelligent interaction capabilities to efficiently solve urban emergencies.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Comprehensive city services are pictured on the large screen for government administrators to monitor real-time data and control the latest urban crisis. Meanwhile, users can actively use the mouse/voice/Pad to initiate conversations with area offices on the screen for task distribution and resource scheduling, or the system can determine the type of crisis based on AI and automatically distribute them to the corresponding departments. Each task progresses will also be feedbacked to realize the closed-loop governance and city security.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Begin the product development in January 2020. Since March 2021, 8 projects have been launched in 5 Chinese cities, including Beijing Haidian District City Brain, Kunming Guandu District City Brain, Chengdu City Brain, etc.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Based on the space-time grid search engine, the product can quickly retrieve specific information to assist government decisions. Integrate city data and digital twin to monitor city operations and predict crises through AI. While based on the world's leading deep learning technology, we also create intelligent interaction capabilities such as speech recognition and digital office worker.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Applicable to all large-screen devices, including LCD splicing screens, LED integrated screens, large touch screens, external monitors, etc.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The product is for urban governance. We analyze the latest government policies and conduct user interviews with urban managers to summarize product design needs.
For example, in the Lijiang epidemic prevention and control project, the objects of our user research include the mayor of Lijiang and the director of the Lijiang Epidemic Prevention Headquarters. We found that real-time analysis and visualization of epidemic data help the government grasp the comprehensive situation of the epidemic and provide a reference for epidemic prevention decision-making.
CHALLENGE: Intelligent Interactions:
The Pad Control and Voice Control are designed for interacting with the screen, improving the efficiency of city management.
Digital Office Worker:
Aiming at the difficulty of large-screen explainers' holiday work and high repetitive tasks, we design the digital worker who can clarify and monitor the city/district overview.
Visible City levels:
Each city level pictures different map perspectives and personalized smart data, such as the city's macro situation, the public livelihood and opinion in one area, and the hidden dangers of street safety.
