| DESIGN NAME: Xiling PRIMARY FUNCTION: Digital Human Platform INSPIRATION: As digital humans have gradually entered people's daily lives from games and films, the current high-cost and long-cycle model of creating digital humans can no longer meet the needs of enterprises for using digital humans. Enterprises urgently need a low-cost and short-cycle way them could afford and use digital humans well. Therefore, leveraging its years of AI expertise, Baidu has developed this platform to accelerate the process of the digital era. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: As a production and operation platform, this platform connects enterprises on one end and consumers on the other. By breaking down the people, services, and environment in the digital human service scenario, and gradually integrating experience design and AI technology, the platform has achieved the ability to create digital humans, conduct live streaming, and generate videos easily, at low cost, and in a short period of time. It also improves consumer experience of using digital human products. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The platform allows users to quickly generate ultra-realistic digital humans using photos, keywords, and parameter adjustments. With the digital humans, users can carry out live streaming activities using either AI-driven or human-driven methods. AI-driven digital humans can interact with the audience through Q&A sessions. Human-driven live streaming can be achieved directly with a single camera for capturing movements and facial expressions to drive the digital human. Finally, users can also generate videos directly by inputting digital human-related commands into a non-linear editor, enabling quick deployment of digital humans. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project was launched in January 2022 in Beijing and made its first appearance in China in July 2022. It is still ongoing and the team members are based in Beijing, China. |

There is a growing contradiction between the needs of enterprises for digital humans and the high cost and long cycle of digital human creation. The emergence of this platform can help enterprises to quickly and efficiently provide content services of digital humans, and accelerate the global digitization process. CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge is how to ensure that the Xiling Digital Human Live Streaming Platform is both efficient and user-friendly in producing content, while also being able to produce digital content that satisfies consumers. Based on this, we have broken down the digital human service scenario into atomic levels, defining experience standards and embedding AI capabilities at each level to ensure the quality of the digital human experience in core elements such as humans, activities, and scenes, thus achieving both good and fast results in digital human production.
