| DESIGN NAME: IN-VR Impression PRIMARY FUNCTION: Device INSPIRATION: Most VR devices have many accessories. Users need to find a controller before using it. It is also complicated to store after using. The IN-VR Impression is specially designed to solve these problems. The whole machine is folded and easy to place on the desktop. The controller is also stored on both sides of the product, which is easy to take out and use directly at any time. In the process of user experience, users can enter the VR experience more efficiently and quickly. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: IN-VR Impression is a more interesting VR device. Many VR devices are headworn, which is troublesome to wear and is not suitable for long-term experience. IN-VR Impression is a desktop VR device that can provide a more convenient and portable experience. The controller of the product is directly stored on both sides of the product, so users no longer have to worry about finding the controller. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: IN-VR Impression is a desktop VR. This interactive mode allows users to no longer wear heavy VR devices. It is suitable for users to use it for a long time. It can also provide excellent VR experience for people with mobility difficulties. At present, VR devices are complex to wear and unfriendly to some vulnerable groups. The market needs a lightweight VR product that allows users to experience for a long time and better integrate life and work into the virtual world. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: It was the project that started in Shanghai in March 2022 and completed in Shanghai in November 2022. It has not been officially exhibited yet. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The shape of the IN-VR Impression is easy to fold, and it can be folded directly on the desktop when not in use. When the controller is not in use, it can be stored on both sides of the product and can also serve as an atmosphere lamp to enhance the sense of technology. The controller can also conduct wireless charging at the same time. The whole machine is mainly made of black and silver gray. The dynamic line contrast increases the product's sense of technology. The mechanical knob also increases the delicacy of the product. Storage takes up part of the whole process, so we hope to design a product that is convenient for users to use quickly, and at the same time we hope to reduce the burden of users. CHALLENGE: In the design process, the most important consideration is how to integrate the controller without affecting the integrity of the whole. The expectation of IN-VR Impression is that users can experience VR more quickly and easily. The part of design display is often less than expected. It is found that users often cannot find the controller during the use of VR devices. After using it, they are puzzled about how to store it. In order to solve these two problems, the designer formally developed products like IN-VR Impression.
