| DESIGN NAME: Kozo PRIMARY FUNCTION: Bookshelf INSPIRATION: minimal and modular design were the key elements behind Kozo design. I wanted the end user to have the possibility to interact with the design and be part of it, make it more personalized. the possibility to create different composition by placing different types of modular shelves and integrating different material and colors, makes each Kozo bookshelf a unique piece. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Kozo is a wooden structure made for you to create with. Whether it’s an artistic piece that merges colour and light or a bookshelf in your living space, the expansive flexibility it offers will let you turn it into one of a kind. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Kozo has a flexible design composition; the end user can customize and personalize his bookshelf to meet his/her needs and lifestyle. the main brackets and end-cover can be made of different material and finish, and can be placed in different location at any time which allows the end user to create a unique color scheme and composition, same goes for the different types of shelves that can be placed in multiple location and as much as quantity as needed. making Kozo a unique bookshelf for every user. The end user has the ability to interact with the design. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in September 2022 and was exhibited in Art Of Living in November 2022 in Abu Dhabi, and Menart Fair Brussels 2023 FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Furniture Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: the module system comes in different types of back panels that can be combined together depending on the size needed. Stainless steel brackets fixed to the back panel create the support that holds the shelves that are made of 4mm aluminum sheets. the brackets are covered by a 3cm x 3cm wooden sleeve that can have different finish (Natural wood or Colored finish). An end cup which can be made of different materials like Brass, Marble, Wood,....covers the end of the Bracket. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Height and Width dimensions are flexible since this is a modular system, the depth is 35 cm.
