| DESIGN NAME: 5972 Olton PRIMARY FUNCTION: Desk INSPIRATION: Inspired by 5972 Olton hall class steam engine locomotive built in 1937 for the Great Western Railway that became the famous Hogwarts Express. 5972 Olton resembles the power, strengths, and endurance of this magical steam engine locomotives that are part of of humanity popular history and fiction. The design combines beautiful long hard conacaste wood top over a long curved partition that attaches to a shiny red side storage unit in a well balance composition. The end result is an oversize desk capable of enduring hours of board gaming and video gaming adventures. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 5972 Olton is an oversize multifunctional surface commissioned by a private client, designed to serve primarily as an office desk, secondarily can manage board game and and computer gaming activities. it blends a classic wood with modern red polyethylene red finish and subtle curves into a well balance composition. All three main components were carefully dimension to best manage the oversize visual aspect of the composition. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Elegant and modern for working gaming and board gaming is a multidisciplinary studio desk. it can handle two 25 inch monitors with ease. Simultaneously, can accommodate four board game players. The integrated drawer cabinet can support large gaming CPU, four board games and additional three drawers for peripherals and gaming controllers. It is all type of tactical, analytical, strategic game's dream. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Design: 1.5 months Production: 3 weeks Delivery: 1/2 day |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Handcrafted on solid wood, veneers,plywood. polyethylene finish. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Dimensions: 3000mm/750mm/1800mm TAGS: - RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Created by Industrial design methodology: project management, budgeting, PR, research, hand sketching, 3d modelling, constant client feedback, material selection, production technique selection, producer selection, production supervision, quality control, and delivery. CHALLENGE: Creating custom luxury items can take some time since clients tend to be very busy individuals and feedback is slow, but that is the nature of the job.
