| DESIGN NAME: Skin Lift PRIMARY FUNCTION: Bra INSPIRATION: I wanted to find a solution for women's most universal beauty problem;sagging,wrin UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Using a special technique ,by attaching human skin onto a specially designed garment, the skin on the body gets lifted,instantly creating a much younger looking and smoother looking skin and also improving shape.It is an instant tummy tuck,lifting skin instantly without the risk,pain and cost of surgery.Similar attempts to lift skin by means of a set of adhesives are not as effective,as skin needs an anchor garment to keep holding it in place. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The wearer attaches the garment below a regular bra leaving the straps loose.The garment is then turned around to open the inside and the adhesive strips are attached,the adhesive strip cover is removed and the adhesive is attached to the skin.The garment straps are then pulled up and the skin is pulled to its desired height for dramatic effect. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The road to this invention was a long one;research started in 2008 and was completed in the Western Cape South Africa in 2022. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: After having found the right adhesive and tested it for strength,I had to find a way to attach it to an anchor garment,so I bonded it with Velcro.To attach the Velcro hook strip to the garment I had to find a suitable fabric on the inside of the garment,for which I used brushed nylon SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The bonded adhesives are cut into 10 cm strips, and are 2.5 cm in width and sold in small packages of 10.This will be sold as a starter pack together with the garment. Larger amounts can be bought separately as the adhesive strips are disposable .The adhesive strips are disposable, hypoallergenic and therefore a lucrative by product. The garment will be sold in 3 bra sizes; large (with attachable extensions),medium and small. TAGS: underwear garment, tummy tuck, cellulite and wrinkle removal. RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Various adhesives first had to be tested for skin friendliness and strength until the right one was found.Various fabrics were tested for matching the bonded Velcro adhesive to the garment. CHALLENGE: The greatest challenge after finding the right adhesive and matching fabric for the Velcro,was to design a garment that would hold up the skin on the tummy and not pull the bust down.I eventually realized that a garment that holds up skin on the tummy and also holds up the bust would not be possible,so I then decided to separate the two,giving the option to wear a bra with the T&T garment or just on it's own for those who do not need much bust lift,but have sagging skin on the tummy.Then another challenge was to design a garment with straps that would not interfere with the bra's function. NAME: Taut and Tight.co PROFILE: Taut and Tight's brand is about making women feel good about themselves and their bodies, to feel better in their own skin. The aim is to become a global brand for skin lifting. To make women feel confident about wearing revealing clothes regardless of their age or shape. After introducing the skin lift on the tummy, the next aim is to introduce a skin lift on the knees, upper arms and decolletage. Eventually also to branch out into a swimwear range, tank tops, shorts etc. |
