DESIGN NAME: Dukang Liquor
PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Maker of Chinese Baijiu
INSPIRATION: The inspiration comes from the name of the brand Dukang. It is from a line of the poet, Cao Cao from Three Kingdoms. He was a great and vital millitary strategist in history, still admired by many in modern society. The bottle is shaped into an abstract profile of him.The cap is inspired from the garment of officials in after-Han dynasty, while the body of the container is carved into a gown at that time, which also enhances a steady holding.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: It is said that Du Kang is the first Chinese winemaker in history, so it widely refers to Chinese Baijiu. To use an exchange story to reflect this bottle of Baijiu, the whole bottle is shaped from top to bottom to form a historical figure, Cao Cao. The outside of the box is decorated with a vector painting of the ancient capital Luoyang, also the city of the brand owner.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: How to save consumer's effort to look for an ideal product is the key challenge of this case. A distinctive symbol, an explicit layout of info and a unitive serial system of package will help Wellmind to solve the problem, where consumers are able to recognize and pick up the products from far away.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project lasts 4 month, designed in Shenzhen.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The glass material will differentiate the wine from its competitive brands, which are usually packed in ceramics. Bottled in glass, the gloss and texture are upgraded on the surface.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The new packaging design bings the ancient culture of Chinese wine into modern people, and hopes to communicate with the world.

Outer of the box is decorated with a vector painting of the ancient capital of Luoyang, which is now also the brand owner’s city. As a socializing media, Dukang Baijiu is bringing back a part of history and telling it in a modern visual language.
