| DESIGN NAME: Binding Void ZH PRIMARY FUNCTION: Architecture INSPIRATION: This project was inspired by the couple's differences yet their harmony in life and big Love present in their relation. The site that has a spectacular view and exceptional natural frames. As well as The plot has a steep topography, that was used to level the villa UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Villa is an interpretation of the clients’ own personalities who do not have a unified definition of a house. The husband is a social individual who celebrates life openly whereas the wife is a social introvert who enjoys her privacy and own space. Besides that, both agree that a home is a place to be happy and relaxed in, therefore we looked into the meaning of happiness and translated is spatially to reflect the home-owners’ characters. Located in Mount Lebanon, the site in itself benefits from spectacular views overlooking the sea and the mountains. The plot is a steep slope which was integrated within the design and utilized to create different outdoor spaces. It features a pool overlooking the mountain range and sea beyond, framed by the building elements, an outdoor seating area at the upper level for extra privacy, as well as a safe space for children to play and enjoy their time. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This Villa has a deep connection with the sea and mountain view it has, As well as it celebrates the light inside the villa, This villa is very eco-friendly as it allows direct sunlight to pass into the villa during winter and at the summer it is protected by the cantilevers. The owners of the villa after living in it, their answer to whether the living spaces and accessibility of the villa is as they dreamed of: the Answer was "it is so good to be true" the owners that are living its experience everyday are still enjoying and feeling that it is talking to their dreams and wishes. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The construction of this project started in 2019 in Deirkouche, Mount-Lebanon and finished in July 2022. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Located in Mount Lebanon, the site in itself benefits from spectacular views overlooking the sea and the mountains. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The villa consisits of 400sqm as total 21meters tall and 7 meters width TAGS: design, designboom, paseo, paseoarchitecture, Lebanon, awards, Italy, modern, architecture, villa, RESEARCH ABSTRACT: After meeting the clients and discussing their personalities and what they hate and like, We found that this project should be an interpretation of their own personalities that do not have common definition for a home, other than both being happy and relaxed in it. We searched for the meaning of happiness for both and transformed them in to spaces but the connection was still missing. We connected these two volumes with a void where light celebrates there relation that is strong and healthy. CHALLENGE: The hardest part was transforming the ideas into spaces and forming one single villa holding contradictory personalities yet can be used by both. NAME: Paseo Architecture PROFILE: There is Architecture when there is a poetic story to tell. The building should be able to talk to you and tell a story. Paseo Architecture is an international award-winning office based in Lebanon, whose current work encompasses residential and commercial projects. Paseo has been featured in various articles, architecture platforms, magazines and publications which covered its design ideology and school of conceptualization. It is founded by Architect Tarek Ibrahim - an L.A.U graduate with degree in Architecture, Applied Theory in Architecture, and is currently pursuing his studies in Islamic Art and Architecture. Paseo reckons that stories of civilization, community, and/or individuals must be told through architecture. Paseo considers that architecture is the only real tangible truth of ancient civilizations and that it’s historical value fundamentally reflects dissolved cultures and civilizations. Therefore, Paseo believes that architecture is a promenade that reflects societies in their corresponding eras. |
