| DESIGN NAME: Brewblender PRIMARY FUNCTION: Multifunctional Blender INSPIRATION: In a changing world with global warming and an obesity pandemic, we wanted to create a product that puts the user fully in control of their own food preparation. The aim was to create one single product that enables users to prepare their favorite healthy and environmentally friendly drinks easily, without worrying about any added food additionals. The Brewblender solves this with one single product for multiple uses. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Brewblender enables users to brew and create their own healthy drinks without food additives or chemicals. The BrewBlender is able to grind coffee beans and almonds and French press them into coffee and almond milk in one single device. With the complete set, other food preparations like blending, chopping, and whisking can be done. Specifically designed for your healthy lifestyle and is multifunctional for your kitchen versatility. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The main function of the Brewblender is the ability to brew both coffee and almond milk. For coffee, add coffee beans, grind the coffee beans, add water, and switch to the french press and press to filter. For almond milk, add almonds and water, leave overnight, add chopper to chop, switch to french press, and press to filter to almond milk. Besides that, it functions as a chopper, whisk, and immersion blender. The blend speed can be adjusted on the ergonomic handle for grinding and chopping. Sports, a healthy diet, and mindfulness are part of that. Research shows that plant-based and pre-workout types of drinks are difficult to make by yourself. Almond milk and coffee are the most popular drinks for people with an active lifestyle in these categories. The Brewblender stimulates users to easily brew their own drinks with one device for a healthy lifestyle. CHALLENGE: The research/creative challenge was to add value to the daily life of people and society. The goal was to design one device that can meet the needs of the target user group. The Brewblender combines the functionalities that are needed to prepare, according to user research, favorite drinks like coffee and almond milk. Normally, you would need multiple different products for this so integrating these elements was a challenge. Next to that, the functionalities that you expect from a hand blender are also still there.
