| DESIGN NAME: The Zodiac PRIMARY FUNCTION: Bookmark INSPIRATION: The zodiac, which comes from an ancient Chinese folk philosophy and has been used to this day, is made up of 12 different animals, each year represented by one animal in a 12-year cycle. The zodiac is also a simplified ecology of Chinese, twelve animals have very different personalities and live in harmony with each other. Book, is the carrier of human knowledge, bookmark, is a small tool for reading, but also the embodiment of the reader's taste. The illustration is full of Oriental style, let the Oriental wisdom accompany our reading time, but also let the zodiac culture more widely inherited, this is our original design intention. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: We redesigned the zodiac illustrations and made them into bookmarks, as if animals were walking inside the book. On the packaging, we use zodiac illustrations to form a circular pattern, which embodies the ecological of Chinese zodiac culture and symbolizes completeness. We also use the Chinese favorite colors: gold and red, symbolize joy and blessing. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: - PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: It took about one year in Shenzhen China |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The zodiac Bookmark is made of high-toughness stainless steel, electroplated with 18k gold in CNC engraving process.The finest precision can reach 0.3mm. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 303mm*155mm*35mm TAGS: - RESEARCH ABSTRACT: - CHALLENGE: The twelve animals are quiet different, like small mice , large cattle,horses and even fictional dragons. To design these animals with different morphological characteristics into a series and make the twelve be unified while keeping their characteristic is the biggest challenge .
