DESIGN NAME: Ocean Blue
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Alcoholic Beverage Packaging
INSPIRATION: The elements of sea and beach are highlighted in the design of the bottle. The upper part is painted with golden sparks, an association with beach sand. The sparks symbolize ideals. The lower part is colored in sea blue. It symbolizes fights for hope. The overall design demonstrates a "youth, vigor, optimism and ambition" image, demonstrating the consistency of quality and brand appeal.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The bottle is so exquisite that the liquor inside feels like a vast ocean. The bottle body remains in the golden ratio shape of waves. The shape of the bottle is flexible and smooth, following the principles of rational aesthetics. The golden rule of "Fibonacci spiral" is used to modify the ratio of the wine bottle to create a more balanced, elegant and dynamic super golden ratio of "point, line and surface", which is convenient for users to hold and open, and meets the ergonomics design.The industry's first copper plate lithography in designing baijiu bottles. Other techniques like cat-eye making and embossing are also adopted in the design to give the bottle a better texture. It will give customers a brand-new experience.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The four codes of 1+6+6+6 are used to digitally correlate the inner and outer cap , box and case. 1 case code to 6 bottle codes + 6 box codes, each bottle code and box code corresponds to the other.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Bottle: blue material, weight 510g
Cap: The materials used for the various parts of the cap contain PS, ABS, PC, PE or EPE.
Box: The outer box is grey board paper containing positioned photo-engraved paper with a blister top; the interior is mounted on white board paper; with a foam pad and woven blister.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In-depth market research through online questionnaires and offline seminars to analyse the memory points and shortcomings of Ocean Blue packaging. Memorable points such as the "Ocean Blue main visual symbol and its classic streamlined bottle" should be continued; But the box material is soft, the colour gradation is quite grey and dull, and the bottle label lacks details and texture.
The upgrade of Ocean Blue inherits the memory points, improves the deficiencies and combines modern and stylish design, to enhance the overall quality and grade. The focus is on upgrading the outer boxes, bottle labels, handbags and outer cases.
CHALLENGE: Nearly 100 million bottles of the product are sold annually with its shoddy knock-offs rife in the market. This design is focused on anti-counterfeiting. The newly designed product includes a utility model patent for a composite buckle, which consists of an assembly part, a cross-linking part, and a connecting part. The buckle is made of plastic injection molding, with a hole set on its cross-linking part and a metal insert rod in the hole.
