PRIMARY FUNCTION: Food Delivery Robot
INSPIRATION: Designed with inspiration from the upright shelf, the shape of Deca features the low center of gravity for stability during delivery. On the basis, it also comes with the modular meal plates for flexible functionality. According to actual usage needs, users can add or remove the meal plates freely, and conveniently adjust the number of layers or the height between each two layers, to maximize the utilization of vertical space.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: As a food delivery robot designed for restaurants and hotels, Deca is able to conduct real time environment recognition, intelligent path planing and agile avoidance of people and obstacles, providing an efficient, hygienic and contactless solution for food delivery. Its modular multilayered meal plates can be flexibly added or removed according to actual usage needs, and can intelligently identify the tableware and dishes placed on the plates to make food pickup more convenient for users.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Deca is designed for more convenient food delivery service. To optimize user experience, it comes with the smart advertising display screen, the expression interaction mode and many other functions for more intuitive information communication and more efficient food delivery service. Additionally, it can intelligently identify the tableware and dishes placed on the meal plates, and then informs users when they pick up dishes, making the whole process more humanized and automatic.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The design and development of Deca started in Shenzhen, China, in January 2022. It will be introduced to Shenzhen market in China, in November 2022.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The main body of Deca is made of the composite of PC and ABS, which achieves not only the high strength and heat resistance of PC but also the flexibility of ABS. Thereby, it boasts optimal resistance to both impact and heat. Moreover, it is designed in a simple and regular style to eliminate the interference to the overall spatial layout caused by the excessively quasi physical and anthropomorphic look. Hence, this allows Deca to blend into various application scenarios as an inherent element.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Regular pandemic prevention and control measures have make unmanned food delivery an inevitable trend in the catering industry. Food delivery robots need optimization to cope with the complex environment and large customer flow in restaurants.
Equipped with the 360 degree high sensitivity sensors, Deca can sense the environment in real time and intelligently plan paths to avoid people and obstacles, so that it can adapt to restaurants and hotels with complex environments and large customer flow.
CHALLENGE: It is crucial to improve service efficiency and accuracy of food delivery robots to cope with the complex environment in restaurants and hotels, which has long hindered the development of related industries. Equipped with the 360 degree high sensitivity sensors and the intelligent dish identification programme, DECA can automatically plan food delivery paths and agilely avoid people and obstacles in complex environment for accurate delivery, and can inform users when they pick up food.
