| DESIGN NAME: Voko PRIMARY FUNCTION: Reception Robot INSPIRATION: Designed with the concept of less is more, Voko sheds redundant decorative elements, whose sleek and rounded shape brings about a sense of affinity. Its compact and lightweight column body is conducive to directing the visual focus of visitors to the dual curved interactive screens, thereby enhancing the efficiency and interactivity of information communication. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: As a fixed reception robot designed for commercial facilities, Voko is able to provide services like reception, customer base broadening and information consultation, for it can be connected to the smart service chain in diverse public spaces and allows for rapid deployment in various commercial facilities. It can also function as a health and safety guardian in the public to facilitate pandemic control by providing services such as body temperature measurement and health quick response code identification. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: By combining such functions as face recognition, work badge scanning, temperature measurement and health quick response code identification, Voko provides intelligent unmanned solutions for reception and consultation in hotels, exhibition halls and other commercial places. Connected to the municipal pandemic prevention and control network, it allows administrators to visually access the information of visitors like body temperature and health quick response code when they enter, benefiting the public health and safety. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The design and development of Voko started in Shenzhen, China, in November 2021. It was introduced to Shenzhen market in China, in July 2022. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Made of the composite of Pc and Abs that features the optimal strength, heat resistance and flexibility, Voko can effectively resist impacts and high temperature. Its modular design makes the base and body detachable for packaging and transportation, reducing the space occupied during transportation by more than 3 times. This lowers costs for packaging and transportation, and facilitates efficient assembly and deployment. Transportation and assembly are also effortless even for one person. The feature-rich robots are efficient in information communication and can work around the clock. CHALLENGE: Existing reception robots often let users down in the twoaspects. One is the one-piece design that costs high for transportation due to low space utilization. The other is part-disassembly design that requires much time and extra assistance for installation. To solve the issues above, VOKO comes with modular design which can be detached to fit into a flat package, reducing the space occupied during transportation by more than 3 times.
