PRIMARY FUNCTION: Olive Oil Packaging
INSPIRATION: Mesolivia awakens the memories of the pure and traditional methods used to extract olive oil. It is the reminiscence of what the lands of the Mediterranean can provide.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The idea behind the packaging design was the olive tree bark. Designed to resemble the most important tree for the Greek culture and Mediterranean civilization, Mesolivia is not just an olive oil brand, is the symbolization of the cultivation and life resource of an entire civilization, from ancient times ‘till now.
the design team explored the concept of traditional values and everything that connects people with their land, and fuses them with the essence of the tree bark itself.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: -
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in September 2020 in Athens and finished in April 2021 in Athens, and was exhibited in supermarkets and local stores in MAy 2021.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: There was no research for this project
CHALLENGE: The packaging wants to show the know-how of the cultivators, in order to remind the consumer of the traditional values and importance associated with the olive oil and further connect them with their land.
The packaging seems to be created directly from the olive oil bark. It is also made to be fully sustainable, keep the oil fresh without letting any light source alter it’s quality and with a no-drip system.
