| DESIGN NAME: Humand PRIMARY FUNCTION: Second Aid Kit INSPIRATION: Inspired by the idea of providing humanistic living conditions for people who have survived a disaster. Post-disaster conditions affect people in the manner of both physically and psychologically. Humand offers solutions to decrease these impacts. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Humand aims to deliver the aid disaster victims need by classifying the aid donated or to be donated during disaster periods, it also aims to prevent excess or unnecessary aid from turning into waste by offering an organizational system design for charitable citizens. Compact solutions for the designated areas of the design are envisaged to meet the needs of the disaster victims in the best and most humane way. Each box is designed to solve the problems defined in itself. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Humand offers a service for both disaster victims and people that want to make a contribution for victims. Humand will be distributed by authorized people for post-disaster conditions. The other service that Humand offers is a charity collection platform for people who want to help victims. This platform gathers the effort of those people and provides focused donations for victims. Humand’s setting can be arranged according to needs of disaster areas. Humand modules are designed to provide proper usage environments for specified purposes. Humand modules are allowed for storage or other purposes after they are used for specified purposes. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: In respect of reducing production costs, the number of molds is arranged to minimum number. Humand can be produced by using three main parts. Containers have adaptor parts to provide specific functions. Production technique of body and containers is plastic injection molding. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Dimensions: 530 x 285 x 285mm Weight: 1500gr. TAGS: Disaster, Survival, Humanistic, Living Conditions RESEARCH ABSTRACT: There are sheer amount of post-disaster products available. Most of the existing products are focusing on saving peoples lives, which is crucial. However, providing a more livable conditions and contributing their rehabilitation after disaster is also a vital process. Humand aims to contribute people’s lives in this manner. CHALLENGE: Main challenge was optimizing the dimensions and weight of Humand. Also deciding the functions of modules was a challenge while design process.
